I am no longer doing the BHL - Tomtomrawr - 09-18-2008 After weeks of thinking about it, i have decided that i am no longer going to try and make the Bounty Hunter Legion, for multiple reasons. i don't like trading and setting people up, organising times and events is not my best thing, i just don't have enough time on FL anymore, i have lots of other games, i'm not very good at the top of the command tree, i'm good very near it, where i get to organise a couple of things i like to do, but not all the way at the top, where i have to do everything. so i hearby give the rights to continue with it to the other two who helped start this faction with me, Victory and Mike_Fire. They can either continue with it or just leave the idea to die. Making a faction takes alot of responcibility, if your not organised or if FL is not your main game, don't even bother trying to make a faction. A message to new people who think making a faction would be cool: Trust me, it isn't. i really didn't like doing it, sure the idea of being the leader of something is tempting, but it is just to troubling, you have to spend most of your time trading, and that is NOT fun. thank you for reading. I am no longer doing the BHL - Erythnul - 09-18-2008 That title could be misinterpreted. I am no longer doing the BHL - Markam - 09-18-2008 I misinterpritated the title. I am no longer doing the BHL - sn!p3r - 09-18-2008 Way to spam a non flood thread.. Sorry to hear about your decision john, running a faction is hard, and not for everyone. Hopefully you will have fun doing something else, yeah? I am no longer doing the BHL - Tomtomrawr - 09-18-2008 indeed it is, i have just posted a thread looking for a new faction to join. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...c=23651&hl= I thought a faction would be easy to run, and man was i wrong. I am no longer doing the BHL - ProwlerPC - 09-18-2008 Yes, it can be tough. Particularly with a BHG faction for multiple reasons. 1. There is a biased opinion on BHG within the community. I joined after, but apparently there used to be BHG BCs running around hunting when those caps were meant to be used against the Order and Nomads 2. The BHG has a very large zone to operate and multiple roles to fulfill. Trying to keep tabs on your agents or even worse, keeping them from being to spread apart to help each other, is one heck of a job managing your agents based on their availability and time zones. 3. BHG requires alot of forum work. A necessity due to the bounty boards. Imagine trying to launch a fighter based faction. One that is able to operate in almost all of Sirius. One that has the eyes of the community on them (or more precisely, the feeling that all eyes are on them) in case of a slip. It's definitely a faction that needs to start small, focusing on one Zone and slowly expanding as the player base increases. It's definitely a faction that needs to prove itself first before being accepted, the toughest part. It's possible to be too strict or not strict enough. It's primary body, Hunters in the Houses, is made of small ships, the caps are for a war with Order and Nomad, so maintaining an appeal to keep a presence in house can be tricky. You need to keep enough agents interested as the only way to take down pirates in large ships is with numbers. To cut it short, the more and more I watch a BHG faction develop, the more and more I realize the pressure and no doubt stress that accompanies it. I hope the BHL does continue to make the effort. It takes more than one BHG faction to cover Sirius and friendly competition would be well received I am no longer doing the BHL - Tomtomrawr - 09-18-2008 the main problem is time zones, it's just to hard to try and arrange events with some people GMT, other people GMT+1, and others GMT+10. I honestly have no idea how other people do it. I am no longer doing the BHL - Markam - 09-18-2008 try S/D, the leader is GMT for sure, a lot of guys around also. I am no longer doing the BHL - Tomtomrawr - 09-18-2008 what does S/D stand for? Sirius deputies?? lol I am no longer doing the BHL - sn!p3r - 09-18-2008 Well that's one of the bigger problems factions face, time zones. Planning events can be super hard, or relatively easy. I usually just inform my members via forums that we may be planning an event, and to have them post their available times. When no one is available reschedule or not have it. |
