Advertisements? Here?? - Kosa - 02-12-2015 Is it just me or we really have advertisements on discoverygc.com? Not that I care too much about them and it can be a good source of cash for server upkeep costs. I'm just surprised. Didn't see any earlier. RE: Advertisements? Here?? - Zayne Carrick - 02-12-2015 Probably, you got some malware on your browser, which shows you forced ads. RE: Advertisements? If you have any advertisments on the site, you should scan your computer ASAP. It looks like you have adware. Discovery never had and will never have (I believe due to the possible law issues) any ads, as mod is free-profit software. RE: Advertisements? Here?? - sindroms - 02-12-2015 Provide us with a screenshot, please. Maybe you are doing something wrong. RE: Advertisements? Here?? - Kosa - 02-12-2015 ![]() It's probably my browser playing with me. ANy idea how to get rid of them? RE: Advertisements? Here?? - sindroms - 02-12-2015 Burn your computer. Wow. EDIT: Actually, it says right there that it can run a spyware scan for you. EDIT2: Get a full reinstall, if you don't have anything too good on the PC you are using. Backup the accounts though. RE: Advertisements? Here?? - Connor - 02-12-2015 Run a scan just like the others have said but before you reinstall anything check the extensions tab and disable anything that has quite a few numbers/letters or just looks plain odd. Usually you'll find it there if you don't get rid of it using a virus/malware scanner. I'd recommend that you ether use Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast as your virus scanner along with Spybot Search and Destroy as your Malware/Pup/Other crap scanner. Edit: Extensions on firefox can be found here using the screenshots as a guide 1) http://i.imgur.com/Bv030sN.png 2) http://i.imgur.com/EIfDw75.png I would suggest that you just delete all extensions. If this still doesn't resolve your issue, download an extension called "Add Blocker". This ~should~ block it if the above fail. Edit2: For a better guide, look here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/941136 RE: Advertisements? Here?? - zslayern - 02-12-2015 Edit: You are browser hijacked !asdf!do not burn your firefox!!!! RE: Advertisements? Here?? - Kosa - 02-12-2015 Thanks for the answers! I'll just burn firefox and start from scratch. Or use opera instead RE: Advertisements? Here?? - sindroms - 02-12-2015 Eh. It does not work that way. It probably installs for all browsers. |
