Armed Traders Association - JakeSG - 10-02-2008 Quote:Herewith is the first draft of documents for the Armed Traders Association. We declare that the first CEO, until he resigns or is otherwise permanently disposed, is [ATA]-Edward.Darkmoor. We will abide by the following, unless change is made for good reason. Armed Traders Association
Latrunculus hostilus Index 1. IFF/ID 2. History 3. Objectives 4. Rules and Limitations 5. Ships/Weapons 6. Council/Shareholders 7. Alignments 8. Blacklist 9. Ranks 10. Divisions 11. Pilot Rosters Quote:1. IFF/ID 2. History (OOC: Plan on Expanding this at later date) Recently, many people have noticed a rising number of pirates, whether they are the result of poverty, political unrest, or boredom. Because of the rising numbers of pirates, several members of the Zoners felt it was necessary to create a more military orientated organization. Leaving the neutrality and protection of the Zoners behind, many of the more lawful members of the Zoners broke off to form a new separate organization and join the lawful forces in their fight against pirates and others of criminal intent. Since their creation, members have joined from several other trading organizations, hence the variety in transponders. Recently, the Zoners requested that the ATA leave the Zoners, at least formally, fearing for their neutral status. The Armed Traders Association understood their point and left peacefully, however the two agreed that they would stay closely linked, and that the Zoners would give priority to the ATA for purchases of their ships, weapons and cargo. The Armed Traders Association still fly under Zoner transponders, but consider themselves to be Freelancers, using Freelancer ID's instead. 3. Objectives We are NOT a neutral faction. We gave that up when we left the Zoners to join the lawfuls in their fight. That being said, we are an independent organization and would give those we are fighting against the chance to pick their own stance with us. Thus is the situation:
1. Obey server rules. Punishment for failing to do so depends on the severity of the admins punishment. 2. Obey system lawful rules. (E.g. No trespassing Z21) Failure to do so may result in fines, demotions or, with repeated offenses, temporary removal from our ranks. 3. Do NOT smuggle. Within our faction, smuggling is defined as carrying contraband goods through the systems in which they are illegal. (E.g. carrying cardamine through Liberty will result in punishment, through border worlds will not) 4. Obey superiors, unless they are clearly idiots. (Obey the CEO regardless; we dont want a coup going on here) 5. The ATA is not your personal army. Do not join us merely for protection benefits or to use us to settle your every vendetta. 6. All pirate factions are innocent until they make a move against us. Individual pirates does not make a faction hostile, those individuals will just be added to the Blacklist, pirates who have chosen to be aggressive towards us, and will so receive repayment of kind. 7. Do not enter systems owned by criminal factions we are neutral with bearing aggressive intent. Do not enter said systems without permission from the CEO/division leaders or a valid reason and permission from criminals in control of the system. 8. All Trader division pilots may have a fighter in the fleet under the same name. (OOC: However, to join another division they must make a pilot with a new name.) 9. Directed at Traders: If a pirate is going to destroy you, pay them off. Its good for balance, and we can always send bounties after them. (Will not place bounties on pirates in all cases, wed put them out of a job.) 10. All players may have pilots in all divisions, however it is their duty to keep myself up to date with their list of accounts and forum handle, not vice versa. Trade Limitations:
Any pilot wishing to use a ship belonging to a lawful house or Bounty Hunter faction must request permission from an officer, and if approved, write and publish a request on the appropriate section of the forums, detailing the reasons, the ship in question, what he or she would do with it and the faction the request is directed at. They may not use the ship until approved by an officer of the appropriate factions. Traders: All lawful freighters All lawful transports Advanced Trains are restricted (Help prevent power trading) Recruits and privates are limited to no larger or more expensive than Camara freighters. Fighters: Civilian fighters Zoner fighters Lawful House/BH Fighters (With RP reasons and permission from faction leaders) Eagles Virages Raven's Talons Proposed Very Heavy Fighters: Virage and Ravens Talon Bombers: Civilian Bombers Lawful House/BH Bombers (With RP reasons and permission from faction leaders) Proposed Bombers: Havok MK II, Taiidan Bomber Capital Ships (Restricted): Pending opinions, those who are allowed to use capital ships may use Zoner ships, excluding Juggernaut. Juggernauts and Destroyers are at a minimum, and designed only to be used as flagships for the fleet. Proposed Gunboats: Kusari Explorers, IMG Gunboat Weapons: Lawful house weapons Zoner weapons Weapons mass produced by lawful Liberty factions (Such as Debilitators Ageira) (With permission) One codename per fighter, two per bomber. All Transport Weapons. Vessels belonging to a house must request permission from enemies of said house before crossing their territory. 6. Council/Shareholders (OOC: Not Implemented till ATA is running and stable) The Armed Traders Association is run rather like a business, having traders at its core. There is a council to vote upon matters of greater importance, especially political matters. The Council is composed of the CEO, General, Admiral and Manager, the shareholders and several other individuals who have proven themselves. Shareholders are individuals in or outside the faction who have purchased shares, giving them a small claim in how the faction is run. Each player may purchase a maximum of five shares (A faction ten). Each share is the equivalent to one vote. The CEO automatically receives eleven votes, and each of the division leaders receives six. They may not purchase any more. Shareholders also receive priority when requesting our fighters to escort their own traders (factions may ask us to escort their traders too, however we may not always be able to comply), respond and fulfill commissions, and request to join members of the ATA in group comms. Rules regarding shareholders:
(OOC: Not Implemented till ATA is running and stable) Money gained from shares by the ATA will originally go towards upkeep and maintenance, possibly supplying cash for a single battleship to be shared by division leaders and the CEO. Money gained after that will be used to assist new members of our faction in purchasing ships, existing members in purchasing fighters, and donations to new players. Shares currently cost: $15 000 000 Refund: $6 000 000 To purchase shares, contact the CEO via the forums, he will tell you where to send the cash, how much, and will proceed to upload the names you have supplied to our list located at (Not yet applicable) 7. Alignments Subject to change Allied (They call for help, we help them. You hurt them, we hurt you.) Liberty Navy Liberty Police, Inc Liberty Security Force Friendly (They call for help, we will help them if not preoccupied.) Zoners Other lawful house guard systems Liberty trading companies who do not try to sabotage us as rivals. GMG Neutral (They call for help, we will help them. If the price is right.) Anyone not otherwise mentioned The Order Bounty Hunters Unfriendly (We do not like you, but we will not harm you without you making first move. Or annoying us.) Hostile (We despise you. We see you, we kill you. You spend time in our trade routes, we kill you. You spend time in an allied factions home systems, we kill you. You annoy us, we kill you.) Blacklisted pilots. Wild Phantoms Terrorist IDd pilots 8. Blacklisted Pilots Quote:Phantoms For a pilot to be added to this list, a member of the ATA must submit a screenshot of said pirate committing a crime said member of ATA. Crimes include, but are not limited to, piracy, attacking a member of the ATA without provocation 9. Ranks Minimum requirements to be promoted past private are two days of active service amongst our ranks and the funds to purchase your own ship. On occasion the two daymay be wavered and we may provide some funds to assist you in purchasing your ship. (Being a new faction, any new pilots who can fund their ships will be promoted past private provided they can show some level of intelligence and role-play.) None of the higher ranks (except CEO) have yet been filled. If anyone can show they are dedicated, loyal, have intelligence, are capable of roleplay and have organizational skills, I may consider assigning them to one of the posts on a trial basis. [img=http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2015/ataranksgi2.th.jpg][img=http://img263.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif] Ranks of the same tier are equal across divisions (E.g. Lieutenant is equal to Senior Attendant) Privates and Recruits do not belong to a division. (OOC: Ranks need to be renamed, reworded and reorganized. Anyone with better names and ideas, you would be welcome.) Recently Added: Special titles include:

May your trading be profitable, your hunting better. Armed Traders Association - JakeSG - 10-03-2008 Updated Rosters. //Nobody has any criticism/suggestions? //To Members: If you'd rather I not list your forum handle with your name, PM me. Highlighted pilots are known to be in active service. Quote:11. Pilot Rosters - Updated 11/28/2008 - Tagged several pilots as inactive. PM to have it removed. Armed Traders Association - Omi - 10-03-2008 Ah, you've missed me, [ATA]-Mortis-Probati. Other than that, nice, you've obviously been working on this a long time! Looks good! Armed Traders Association - Tenacity - 10-03-2008 //I dont see this becoming official, we've got several zoner factions already as far as I know (however inactive they are). This also seems more like a trader faction than a zoner faction. I spoke with darkmoor (you, maybe?) in-game about this... but it seems to me that the aim is to use the zoner ID on traders for supposed 'nuetrality' and on combat characters so they can have access to capships. No pirate out there is in anything larger than a gunboat, I dont see why it would hurt this group to use generic trader and military ID's. Armed Traders Association - Robert.Fitzgerald - 10-03-2008 Personally I think Bounty Hunter ships should be out of the question. Why would they sell their ships (which they could be giving to their members) to an organisation which does their job for them? The Bounty Hunters Guild doesn't want to wipe out piracy, otherwise there wouldn't be any business for them. That brings them into conflict with the ideals this faction has. Elsewhere on the shiplist you should include the Eagle, which probably would be a staple for a civilian organisation. House equipment should not be included, for example the RM can't produce enough Wraths for all of their pilots (it's in the infocard iirc) so why should they give/sell them to the ATA? Civilian/Zoner gear only, I'd say. Plus, I don't see why there are such strong relations with Liberty. Why not any of the other houses, or preferably none of them (considering Zoners generally dislike the rules of the Houses). Also, the Houses probably wouldn't like a "Zoner" fleet coming through their territory. Needs some refining, yes. Although the history needs some work, the idea is that we did originate from the Zoners, and it's not so much for their cap ships, but also their fighters. TBH, Zoners make the best and most awesome looking ships, although how they look is often not the basis for which to use. And as I have stated repeatedly, both in game and in the above, we are NOT neutral. The ID does not say neutral, although some may find the tag misleading. However, that should not stop any pirates worth their salt. ' Wrote:Personally I think Bounty Hunter ships should be out of the question. The plan with house ships was that we request, in RP, a commission for the ship in question right here on the forums, but as you said there should be very few. I guess I should have noted that somewhere, I'll fix that when I have time. Eagles are a little overrused, but it's a good idea, thanks for pointing at it. Liberty are by far the most lawful military oriented faction in the game and have the most issues with organized crime by fair, especially during dead shifts, however if we are available we will assist other lawfuls when they request. TBH, Zoners make the best and most awesome looking ships, although how they look is often not the basis for which to use. The zoners use Eagles and other civilian-line ships, so that's what you should be using as a zoner trading faction. Yes, Eagles are pretty popular around here, but it's because they're very good fighters and fairly good looking, not to mention available to almost everyone. I still think the zoner ID isnt right for the group, but if you insist on using it your vessels should be limited to the following: -CT Civilian Fighter Line (starflier, startracker, starblazer, hawk, falcon, griffin, eagle, civilian bomber, and others) -Armored Transport (Hybrid trade/combat vessel) -Zoner Gunboat (To be added in 4.85, would be ideal for you guys since it's a trader-oriented gunboat) -Generic Transports & Trains (Transport, Large Transport, Train, Improved Train, Advanced Train) -Zoner Transport (To be added in 4.85, should be your primary transport after the version is released) The civilian bomber is getting an improved version added in 4.85 as well, so it'll give you some slightly better (and better looking) bomber power. Past that, a zoner-affiliated trading faction shouldnt be using cruisers, battlecruisers, battleships, or any non-zoner equipment, especially bounty hunter stuff. We've got too many bounty hunters around as it is. Armed Traders Association - JakeSG - 10-03-2008 ' Wrote:I still think the zoner ID isnt right for the group, but if you insist on using it your vessels should be limited to the following: Aye, well, I look forward to those additions, and maybe when they become available we won't need to borrow the Kusari Explorer and such. Armed Traders Association - El Nino - 10-03-2008 How About using freelancer ID? I'd go for civilian ships, only civilian bomber... not havoc... Capital ships... I guess noone would mind if you had just one zoner destroyer... for RP purposes... Even better I'd suggest Trader ID... In any case Zoner ID on a factionalized Trader's group is far from what i'd like to see. There are enough trains floating arount claiming to be zoners and such... Zoner ID should be for zoners alone, not a liberty trading faction. I like the general Idea, traders with escorts and such... perfect! Armed Traders Association - JakeSG - 10-03-2008 Freelancer ID might work, but Trader ID doesn't allow bombers as far as I am aware. Most of those Trains with Zoner ID's are powertraders anyway, but I understand your point that a Liberty faction should stay away from Zoner ID's, what with all the non-Zoner idiots using them because they think it makes them immune to piracy. Also, Freelancer ID's/tags are supposed to be incredibly hard to get, aren't they? |
