Black Crusade - Char Aznable - 04-29-2015 Ahoy. This is a general Idea, I am just poking around some things that might be interesting. I started my roleplaying carreer as Pen-and-Paper Player, and I still am one. For some time, I have been living in a small town though, and was thus forced to check out other means of pursuing my hobby, so I started PnP via Teamspeak. Many of my Groups are on hold at the moment, so I am carrying this Idea over to here, and ask if there would be a general interest in playing PnP via TS. What this means
Group/Setting I will be doing this as a side project only, and depending on the resonance, I might completely let it go or do it only once. I'll tell you the general Idea of the Setting, Plot and Characters though. Setting We will be playing Warhammer 40k: Black Crusade. Many of you are surely familiar with Warhammer 40k, those who aren't, check out this wiki article. There are five PnP-Systems for 40k available, namely Dark Heresy (Acolytes of the Inquisition), Rogue Trader (Pirates, smugglers and local lords), Deathwatch (the mother of all Space marines), Black Crusade (Chaos! Blood for the Blood God) and Only War (Imperial Guard, or welcome to dying). Black Crusade is the first (and yet only) setting in which you get to play the enemies of the Imperium of Man, in the form of the servants of the dark gods Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle and Tzeentch. People who devote their souls to Chaos are utterly lost to mankind. Their Bodies become twisted, their minds corrupted, and their only way to find salvation is death - or ascension. Every Player character (In the following referenced to as Heretic) has his or her own motifs for betraying their kind. Some are born on worlds swallowed by the chaotic whirl that is the Screaming Vortex (the location the game takes place in, see this article), others ended up here by chance, losing faith in their God-Emperor upon seeing the abominations of Chaos, and some willingly betrayed humanity for the promise of power, wealth, revenge or even immortality. The most dreaded of these traitors are the mighty Chaos Space Marines, those incorruptible, gene-enhanced power armoured angels of death that got - guess what - corrupted. Heretics are either aligned to one of the gods (worshipping him and the aspects he stands for, thus becoming a direct servant of it) or worship Chaos Undivided, for whatever reason, opening himself a more open future. Characters I won't go in-depth about the rules on this, whoever is interested should contact me so I can provide him with the necessary info. For those new to Black Crusade or to PnP in general, I offer pre-made characters with a backstory (which can of course be altered to the players discretion). Everyone who is either familiar with the system or PnP and interested can of course generate his or her own character. Players interested post in here, please. The adventure wil be playable for 3-5 players. There are only two slots for Chaos Space Marine-Characters, one being unlocked at 5 players, sorry. 0/5 Farstur the twisted (Human Psyker, unaligned) - Not yet taken Farstur was born on the Calixis' Sectors capitol planet, Scintilla, as the son to two workers who had been marrying against the protocols of the factory they were working in. Forced to give away their child to the orphanage, Farstur was planned to be deported to the Schola Progenium as his powers manifested the first time - and without training, his mind was open for the horrors of the Warp. Possessed by a particularly vile daemon, he witnessed how his body and mind not only killed every one of his former friends, but by ritualizing their deaths he also doomed the vessel he was flying on. As unspeakable horrors swarmed the corridors of the ship, he cried out to the Emperor for salvation - but he stayed silent. Instead, he heard the voice of another person, a person that promised him a fate and a future, not a pointless death on the battlefields of man - and having nothing to turn to, Farstur accepted. Zak'har the silent (Human Apostate, unaligned) - Not yet taken Zak'har has always been a cunning individual. Being raised on a forgotten planet on the edge of the Calixis Sector, he used his wits to become the Despote of a city - not a large one, but a city. His way was plastered with slit throats on his order, blackmail and pressured resignments. He does not speak often, but if he does, it is always quiet, almost unhearable, although everyone knows what has been said. All this cunning and authority didn't help him though, as the Administratum happened to the notes about his world's existence - and promptly decided that it was time to tithe the world. Being stripped of not only his wealth and resources, but even the very people who followed him, Zak'har decided that he didn't want to serve in the imperial guard - and used his talents to talk his, and only his way out of this, hitched a ride out of the Sector to find his luck. He has since found a letter adressed to him - a letter telling that his coming has been foreseen, that he can amass unspeakable wealth by following the call to the Vortex - and so he did. Sathuban (Chaos Space Marine Champion, unaligned) - Not yet taken He doesn't even know where he comes from, or which chapter he originated from. Sathuban has led warbands when the humans of this warband still shat in their diapers - and that he knows. Once he was a powerful leader of the warband called the Steel men, that terrorized the fringes of the independent human empires on the other side of the Warpstorm. Close to rising to enough power to actually take a planet, his right hand-man, a Sorcerer, stepped up and bolted him to the floor of the ferry they were traveling in, and then left it adrift in the void. Sathuban does not know how he came to this planet, but the little voice in his head constantly mutters that his leadership is needed here. Estarith the sleek (Human Pirate Princess, Slaanesh) - Unlocked at four players, experience advised! 'This is mine now' - A phrase that Estarith knows by heart. Nothing in the Vortex (and around it) is safe before her grasp. If she wants something, she snaps her fingers, and people rally to get it - because everyone knows that she is wealthy and powerful. She-who-thirsts has watched her favourable, and granted her the abilities to accumulate even more wealth - although she doesn't care about wealth. She only cares about the kick of possessing something new. One year ago, she decided she wanted to posess an asteroid passing by the planet she was residing on at the time, so she stormed head-on with every person that joined her - and as it turned out the asteroid was infested by Eldar. She killed every single one of them, earning Slaaneshs favour, but after she took the asteroid, she didn't even care about it, and left it be. Later it became known that the asteroid had been holding about a ton of pure gold - She just shrugged and turned to the invitation she received, an invitation to the Oracle of lies - Something new! Antagon Wandering-Gun (Chaos Space Marine Chosen, unaligned) - unlocked at 5 players, experience advised! He has been called many things. In a previous life, he was a 'Devastator', responsible for taking out the most heavy targets. But as the Astral Claws fell, Antagon fled with them - with a notable hatred on two entities. On the Imperium, for killing every brother he once had. And for Huron, who led the chapter into destruction. His need for revenge has led him to many places, always selling his services to the highest bidder in the search for Huron, to take his place and lead an assault on the Imperium, to finally see into the eyes of those who he has to kill. He went to the Oracle for a sole reason. After years of war, he wants to know if he will ever has his revenge, ever see the Imperium torn down - and what he needs to do to make that happen. Afterword As previously mentioned, this is a side project. The starting adventure is ready, but weekly or biweekly dates are unlikely. I hope to have success with this one, it is not the first PnP-Session in english for me, but the first in which I am the GM - so be nice and expect some stutter. Every question you have please in this thread so that everyone can read it. I am looking forward to your participation ![]() Char Aznable RE: Black Crusade - Char Aznable - 04-29-2015 No one interested?
