What does "Generic Civilian Ship" actually mean? - SnakeLancerHaven - 05-08-2015 So I've been wondering. Many of the non-Civilian factions use Civilians ships, now on many occasions it actually makes sense at all, but what does Civilian Ship realy mean? Firstly, does it mean that it's beeing built EVERYWHERE or is it just SOLD everywhere? Or both? As you can see, many unlawfuls use those ships too, but mostly there is a lack of RP on how they actually got their hands on those Ships. Especially now with the Civilian Carrier, how is this justified inRP. Is the faction that's using it actually able to produce such vessels on their Base, or did they just get their hands on from somewhere. You could of course come with the argument "Zoners" however, it would realy pull the Zoner name into dirt if anyone would notice that Zoners hand out Civilian Carriers to Unlawfuls. So how is this? Do the factions actually require to RP the acquirement of the Civilian Shiplines? Or are the Civilian Ships beeing produced everywhere and everyone has blueprints of them? Please clearify. RE: What does "Civilian Ship" actually mean? - Fluffyball - 05-08-2015 I've proposed some time ago to actually change into Commercial. However, even the vanillia Freelancer points out that "Civilian" in fact means "Any Corporate, non-military and non-unlawful member". RE: What does "Civilian Ship" actually mean? - sindroms - 05-08-2015 Basically means para-military in Disco's case. There are no civilians in space, all are trained individuals. RE: What does "Civilian Ship" actually mean? - Eugen - 05-08-2015 well civil ship / equip are more open to ids than the other (go figure) so u see more of them, but they are also not the powerhouses in fights most the time. Intresting enough there are no blank Civil id(s)or iff (like Kusari Civilian or Rheinland Civilian) for the Houses just freelancers (wich count as faction in my opinion) . RE: What does "Civilian Ship" actually mean? - SnakeLancerHaven - 05-08-2015 wait, did you guys actually read what I wrote? lol. I mean I didn't get the answer to my question. There are some that don't engage civilians, but however who builts the Ships? Even if it's a Civilian Corp, it would be aligned to somewhere, it's origin is important. What does "generic Civilian ship" mean to you? Does it mean that the Tech used by it, is compatible with any ship, or whatever? It's realy a weird situation, realy. I mean nowhere it's clarified to whom those ships actually belong, it's just Civilian. I assume in Vanilla it was just Alliance Civilian Ships, since there was no Coalition present in the Singleplayer (well only the Hispania Info Card though, rumors about sabotage of Coalition Agents). But imagine Coalition are able to use Civilian ships, ok. But do they actually build them? From where do they get them? Not to mention Pirates! Ok you could RP that you took ships over by force, but a whole Carrier? I'm not gonna complain about that, but there are still some Factions that it's unclear wheter they should have access to Civilian tech or not. The term "Civilian Ship" doesn't show where it is from. I don't think that Order is building exactly the same ship as Rheinland, or that the Hessians build the exact same Civilian Ship like Kusari. There has been classifications on "Kusari Civilian" , "Rheinland Civilian" those actually showed their true origin and it was alright inRP it was obvious. But the generic Civic Shipline causes some confusion. RE: What does "Generic Civilian Ship" actually mean? - Eugen - 05-08-2015 u might can compere it with STC´s of warhammer 40k RE: What does "Generic Civilian Ship" actually mean? - SnakeLancerHaven - 05-08-2015 (05-08-2015, 12:02 PM)Eugen Wrote: u might can compere it with STC´s of warhammer 40k Mhm not realy what I was looking for.
