I was thinking that more RP events or just regular events on the discovery server would make the experience that much more enjoyable. After a little thinking I decided on this.
I am willing to organize these events so that they happen. I am looking for suggestions on which RP events people liked the most. This will help me to organize the events that people like the most.
Because this may be hard and time consuming, I am asking for help to form an "organization committee." It would be nice to form the committee of people from different time zones so that we can do the events for people in different parts of the world without having them playing at a time that they'd rather be in bed and dreamingz. I think that with other people helping it will be much more efficient. If you would like to help, just pm me or post on this thread.

I have some ideas one I'm actually workingg on now.
I got this idea yesturday and I am still working on the details but heres waht I got.
everyone has done shipping routes one time or another either to earn money or just for fun, whatever the reason my idea is based apon this concept, only in a bit of a different way.
So Here it is
THE SCENARIO
Luxury Cruise International will be planning a cruise to another galxy not sure yet cause it needs to be somewhat profitable to the cruise line.
We will have several cruise liners you know those fancy cruise ships.
They will have to be loaded out realistically toplan a cruise trhough the galaxy. I will show sample layouts below in a moment.
So heres the scenario :)
- Several cruise ships lets say 3 - 5 ships set out from Manhatten to go on a luxury cruise to a beautiful destination across the stars.
- So the cruise is set the passengers are aboard and they've set off on their journey 5 systems away.
- but on the way the ships are hijacked by a group of pirates, mercs, and who else deems the cargo worthy.
- Heres the catch, the pirates just want the loot, the mercs want the special cargo, and the police are looking for the criminal that snuck aboard one the 5 ships. So everyone wants something different and are willing to do anything to get to it.
THE DETAILS
Required items on cruise liner
Total Space 2700 units
Cargo = 200 units
VIP Suites = 500 units (vips = 5 cargo units so 500 cargo = 100 rooms)
Stansard Rooms = 2000 units

- 115 units of Food Rations (1 unit per 20 passengers & 1 per 10 vips +5)
- 50 Units of Consumer Goods (1 unit pper 40 passengers)
- 10 units of Luxury Consumer Goods (1 unit per 10 Vips)
- 2 1 million Credit Cards (To cover gambeling bets in ship casino)
- 10 units of Oxygen (1 unit per system traveled +1)
- 3 units of Pharmaceuticals (1 unit per 1000 +1)
- 10 units of H-Fuel (1 unit per system traveled +1)

- Minimum of 30 VIPs - Maximum 100 VIPs

- Minimum 1200 Passengers - Maximum 2000 Passengers
Note: this is where you would replace a passenger with a snuck on criminal which would be randomly put into a ship somewhere at the time of departure so that no one knows where they are.

Note: that things like credit cards can be sold without a loss of profit, tjey are just needed for the scenario

unless wwe do it this real soon but it will be a week before I get it done at least.

I know that this i allot but I think it could be fun like I said I am working on the destination and the profit margin which I think could be anywhere between 4 and 8 million credits after expenses.
Also no need to write any of this down cause I just copied and pasted it from my notes that I wrote up yesturday so I will post and edit of this with the finished resaults and profits margins, locations excedera when I finish.
Oh and I haven't decided yet weather I would want to be a cruise ship or a pirate but either way this one will be fun. We will of course be setting some limits on ships and equipment for all parties involved :)

yea there was some time involved... I already had most of the numbers from trades that I had done and I still shift some numbers around here and there. I thought this would be alot of fun for a role play though.

It's just something that I have been working on.
First off I have a name for the event "LCI Constellation Cruise" Luxury Cruise to the Galaxy. Sorry Im in advertising
and maybe it can be an annual thing or semi anual thing too :)
It will take cordination with many different factions
- The Cruise Lines will need to go on their scheduled cruise and make their scheduled stops
- A security Force will be needed to maintain the fleet integrity
- Police units will stop the ships to investigate for the fugitive aboard one of the ships
- Pirates will have to cordinate their own attacks
- Then of course Locals - the indiginous enemies of the systems that will be traveled.
I was thinking about 3 - 5 cruise ships and between 2 -3 Security guards per cruise ship.
Also I was htinking no BS because its way too easy to bring down a cruise vessel with one, no matter how heavily armed they may be. The cruise ships won't exactly be defenseless either but hey will have some restrictions as well.
Anyway I am costantly thinking of omprovments and working out the details for this and will keep you posted.
Also as a last minute idea you could have a VIP on one ship that is like the president and the mercs or some terrorist group wants him. so between all of these elements you have everyone involved in some way or another.
Also I thought that once I get closer to finishing the details we could have a sign up sheet for it so that players can post their user names and what they will be taking part in and waht role. Also we will need some crowd control, one member to inspect each group to make sure that they are abiding by the rules of the game before we start. since so much will be going into this one.
One last thing i know this post has gone on for a bit, we will need 2 fleet photgraphers these will be neutral players that will take photos of the action during the game. They don't have to abide bny the equipment and weapon restrictions cause they will not be killing anything but they should have a fast and meneuverable ship. Anyways more on that later :)

I like the idea, Davy. I want to work with you closely on this one so that we can get it together.
I think that there are some things that need to be worked out, but that always happens and I don't have any brilliant ideas for them at the moment. Additionally, I think that in addition to two fleet photographers we should also have some third part people to make sure everything runs smoothly. I think that a force that requires no weapon restriction and can have battleships (or the ship of their choice) will help keep people from cheating. I would suggest someone trustworthy, and pretty much anyone on the forums can be deemed in this manner.
Anyway, if you would like to join the organization committee, please post or pm me.

A race in Connecticut or Dublin (I prefer Dublin since I like Bret.). Have an entry fee and give the money to the winner. I could get this organized about once every week, even.

Sure I would be glad to join the organization committee, I think of these ideas all the time they are just pouring out of me I came up with yet another one this mornig actually two but the other is't quite ready yet.
I will PM this one to you so that it doesnt take over the thread since we are working on the other one. But htis one has potential to do rather quickly cause it doesn't take to much to get it going.
Anyways I like the idea about the Race I've thought of it myself and written down the idea as part of my list of ideas.

Scenario Occupations & Goals

- Cruise Director
Leed the cruise ships and escorts cruise ships to the desired cruise objectives
- Cruise Captains
Captains of the other cruise ships in the fleet
- Cruise Escorts
Escort and Protect the cruise from possible threats
- Pirates Forces
To locate and disable the fleet so that they can rob the casino Vaults on all five (5) cruise ships
- Police Forces
To locate and capture a known Fugitive aboard one of the cruise ships
- Terrorist Forces
To loacate and capture the president and his staff abaord one of the cruise ships
- Fleet Photographers
Neutral players that will photograph the course of the cruise and its events for others to see later and for archive purposes. I will be setting up an FTP account on one of my servers for the photographers to upload their images to afterward.
- Fugitive
The Fugitive will be played by one of the Cruise captains and will be randomly selected by one of the Event Leaders. The goal of the Fugitive is to give clues to his pirate buddies which ship he is on without actually telling them where he is. The Fugitive also needs to stall for time once his buddies arrive to crack the safe.
- Galactic President
The president will select the ship which he wants to be on and will let no one know except the ship captain to which ship he is on. (The president may shoose any of the five (5) cruise ships. The president will be one of the VIPs abaord and will be played by a neutral player. This is a conversational role only, no active play but a very important key player
- President's Escorts
There will be two very heavily armed escorts to protect the president during his cruise these do not count the cruise escorts.
- Event Leaders
The job of the Event Leader is to control the process of the game and make sure that all are abiding by the event rules and not deviating from them.
I will provide a signup list for those that want to participate and a list of individual rules for each player type, when I finish them. The signup list will be comming soon there will be limited space for some occupation types so sign up as soon as possible once it is up
