Newbie LSF / intelligence Factions Question - Julo - 06-04-2015

Hello there,

I am kind of new to Discovery (played for several weeks now and btw I am a Freelancer Veteran) but i love it since the first day.

Of course there are a lot of questions in the beginning but I made it to answer them myself. But now there was a RP incident which I was pondering about. An incident with the LSF.

Does the LSF have might about the LN and can demand and sue whatever they want? I am speaking about a single LSF Officer doing that and not the official way about RP Generals and superior officers.
Yeah it was RP and it was good RP. But consists the LSF a bunch of "Marburgs" ? Or is it true that they have the might to tell an LN capital ship Captain what to do and ask him a lot of questions which they don't have to know?
In Rp I was like, I am the Captain of a Battlecruiser I own you maybe an explanation but not such an interrogation. I am kinda new to RP so they had the better arguments hehe.

The outcome was that they sued me and said that they take my ship away from me. My ship has its own name so when they ask me about it again am I able to say that this ship is running by a new Captain?

I am a little confused right now and afraid about an another encounter with these guys.

I thought LN is kinda independent. I am not in the official LN Faction so there might be differences.

Greetings

Sounds like powergaming to me.
Can you provide a more in-detail description of what exactly happened and what lead to that outcome?

Yeah also was the LSF ship an indie or an =LSF= tagged ship? ( don't give out the name of it we don't want a trial by forum)

Well powergaming is against the rules, I suggest you try posting a report here by following the template given here.
And let admins check it and decide. Make sure to provide as much information as possible, also images and chat logs.

I don't recommend you getting into specifics here, so yeah better take it to the staff only so in order to avoid trial by forum.

FL images are saved in C:\Users\Username\Pictures\FreelancerShots
Chat logs are saved in a file named DSAce.log just open it with notepad, its located in C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Freelancer

Official LSF Faction =LSF=

I was escorting a Trader out of New York with my LABC because there was a lot of pirate activity this day.

My first fault was not to greet them because I was chatting with someone else and didn't pay much attention.
Their first argument was that a LABC cannot escort a Trader because it is a highly advanced war machine.
So I told them about the Pirates and that I was able to kil 2 bombers in an 3 on 1 fight several minutes ago (which was true and I am kinda happy about that my turret steering is improving) They didn't believe me because I only remembered one of the Pirate Names. So their arguments were about that they don't believe me and that I am hiding something from them. "Give us your black box"...and so on. And I was like, Í don't have to give it to you. I am an Officer of the LN and not under your command. But they didnt leave me alone. They played very well and sometime I thought what is wrong with you. Maybe they were 2 of the pirates i killed haha. They seemed to play like very very badass cops who have fun to do such a thing. but they never laughed and were serious all the time

I am not that angry you might think. Just confused and wondering about the behavior between the Factions. I will not report it till there is another incident. Besides it was kinda fun and I laughed alot Wink

Indie or official, no LSF can boss LN around, afaik.

Now, about this.

inRP, the thing was, you were escorting a transport in a LABC, which wouldn't be a usual sight. And when we asked the names of the pirates, you said the names of two Junkers, now obviously that would make anyone suspicious. This led us to believe you were hiding something and so I was gonna make you dock on Norfolk for a 'status check' (I think I mentioned it, I'll look into the screens). Now the black box, it technically meant you would sent us screens over using forums, sorry didn't knew that you were new.

And then later on, we were being harsh because you weren't docking. We were also harsh because we remained suspicious.

and this...
Quote:Faction Right 2. Official player factions have authority over players of the same NPC affiliation, as long as RP justification is provided. This authority applies in forums and in-game, and applies to player faction diplomacy, and strategic and tactical direction, however, exercise of that authority, on the forums and in game, is restricted to official faction members with the rank of the official faction leader and second in command(s) of the faction. The authority may be exercised through the use of in-game in-RP orders, which, if not obeyed, can result in in-game in-RP consequences (arrest, court martial, and even "lethal" force in extreme circumstances). Official player factions cannot, under any cicrumstances, require another player to follow non-canon RP if that player doesn't want to. In case of IDs with multiple official factions, this right is nullified and cannot be used by any of the factions.

We can issue orders to you, and we had an RP justification to do so. We were really suspicious, you know? Tongue

RE: Newbie LSF / intelligence Factions Question - Doria - 06-04-2015

Faction Right 2 says "authority over players of the same NPC affiliation". So, no, you cannot issue orders to the guy if you are LSF and he is LN. Also, it can only apply to actions that go against the lore, and also only the faction leader and 2iC can use that right.

RE: Newbie LSF / intelligence Factions Question - Julo - 06-04-2015

Thanks for the reply and the explaining Oblivion haha.

I really should start to make screens and remembering stuff better hehe. And learn all the code words like Black Box and stuff.
A harsh fight can really take a lot of concentration from me.

The docking thing is clear. You made your point and I didn't follow instantly and kept arguing.

In the end it was kinda clear to me that LSF is a kinda overmighty faction which can boss the others around. But in Rp I would never fully accept that. Wink

No, they can´t inRPly as well as ooRPly. They can boss only LSF indies and only =LSF= leader and 2iC are allowed to do that. They are not superiors of LN.
