Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - SnakeLancerHaven - 08-08-2015 So now (well actually it's long ago) that Phantoms are retconned, doesn't this make Jiang-Xi revised? Jiang-Xi was supposed to be attacked by Phantoms back then, hence why it has so much radiation and all, but now that Phantoms are non-existant anymore, does this mean it's clean and should have higher population? RE: Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - WesternPeregrine - 08-08-2015 Or it could have suffered a series of Chernobyl like nuclear meltdowns at its powerplants (due to an ion storm, whatever), and currently it has the same amount of population And radiation. The lore sure needs to be cleaned up so as to remove those "alternative universe" (as rejected by the great consciousness of Disco), and put it on track with the current setting. But doesn't mean its any better, can be in many ways. Seems like a job for Devs and Coalition connoisseurs to deal with. RE: Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - Fluffyball - 08-08-2015 I agree with WP. I'm sure there's plenty of parts in the lore that not only doesn't fit, but also contradict each other. Retconning may and will lead to situations, in which not only certain faction lore might be impacted, but also entire lore of Sirius is affected. The finest example here is Gallia, Junker and Gallic Junker lore which made Gallic Junkers nothing more but Gallic Privateers after retcon of Junkers stealing Sirian tech for Gallia. RE: Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - Rodent - 08-08-2015 The fact that JiangXi is an irradiated wasteland has been a major part of SCRA stories and lore in general, retconning it would be difficult. You just need to change the reason so it isn't the Phantoms that did it. Perhaps some sort of civil war, internal rebellion or saboteurs from an enemy faction. RE: Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - SnakeLancerHaven - 08-08-2015 Hmm... Well ye then at least change the Phantom part with somehow. I actually like the Chernobyl like idea : D RE: Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - Tabris - 08-08-2015 Right now what the lore is that an 'Enemy of the Coalition' strato-bombed the surface of much of JiangXi, irradiating large swaths of land. Since the Phantoms are nolonger existent in RP we've simply made it ambiguous. (leave their ships) RE: Jiang-Xi not nuclear anymore? - Fluffyball - 08-09-2015 (08-08-2015, 08:40 PM)Tabris Wrote: Right now what the lore is that an 'Enemy of the Coalition' strato-bombed the surface of much of JiangXi, irradiating large swaths of land. Blame Corsairs. If anything bad happens in Rheinland or Omegas, it's Corsairs.
