How to create a custom map on Google Maps? - Igiss - 10-29-2008

A brief question... does anyone know how to create a custom map in Google Maps, with custom background image? Like this one:

http://www.oblivionmap.net/Cyrodiil.html

Google Maps allows to import maps only in a few specific map formats (KML, KMZ, GeoRSS), and I couldn't find any info on how to create map in those formats anywhere.

Any advice on this subject?

Those links, as I can see from a brief review, talk more about creating custom web-based applications on the foundation of Google Maps (or alternatives). What I actually need is to create a map that can be imported into Google Maps. I believe that it's fairly easy to add the Google map onto website once it's done.

Question is, with what I can create that KML, KMZ, or GeoRSS map file to import.

This link should help a bit more.....

Concentrate more on the PhotoOverlay and Regions section. .KML and the others arent really......well they are sort of like a XML file/ZIP file. You will understand after browsing and reading the link/s

Hope this is what ya need
