BBC: Authorities respond to brutal New London terror attacks - jammi - 12-22-2015 ![]() PLANET NEW LONDON, NEW LONDON - Over the past week, New London has been rocked by the bloodiest wave of terrorist attacks in years. These vicious murders have disproportionately targeted civilian commerce within the capitol, with the perpetrators utilising hit and run strikes and highly advanced cloaking technology in an attempt to evade reprisals by local defence forces. First responders to distress signals have reported finding gutted transports, often with survivors' escape pods having been gunned down shortly after. Captain Hannah Smithsby of the Armed Forces confirmed today that the threat had been "largely contained". A number of the perpetrators have already been caught and killed by units from the Suffolk Great Fleet, with the remaining raiders believed to have gone into hiding. Despite this, law enforcement officials have urged caution, and stressed that military escorts are now being provided to ensure the safety of commercial shipping throughout New London. Picket forces on the jump gates into the system are also allegedly being strengthened, to reinforce border security and control in and outbound traffic. Speaking under the condition of anonymity, a Ministry of Defence source reported that "the strong implication is that this is a new raiding outfit sponsored by the Gallic Royal Navy". The Gallic invaders have previously shown callous disregard for civilian lives and the rules of war, committing countless crimes against the population of Leeds and murdering commercial non-combatants whenever encountered in the Bretonia - Liberty border worlds. "These attacks would certainly be well within Gallia's technical capability and align perfectly with their despicable modus operandi." Borderworld Exports Director of Operations Sir James Cromwell has also spoken out against the attacks, decrying them as "deplorable and inhumane." Specifically, he noted that a failure to capitalise on recent innovations in cloak disruption technology may have played a part in these attacks' devastating effectiveness. The Bretonian-Libertonian partnership involved in producing the devices aboard Canary Wharf Station has already announced immediate changes to the way disruptor technology is distributed among defenders in order to address the stark issues highlighted by the latest raids. Felicia Miller - Canary Wharf's notorious chief of security - expounded on what this meant: "To offset the slow pace at which this breathtakingly complex technology is produced, we have taken a new tack in cooperation with the War Office. Bowex has been pioneering the idea of a small number of devices retrofitted with modular coupling hardpoints to enable 'hot-swapping' between vessels on extremely short notice. This will enable first-responders to obtain a suitable disruptor from the Wharf, place a deposit as an indemnity against loss, and return it at the end of their sortie." Bowex hopes to field trial the effectiveness of this 'lease' system within the coming days. It is believed that this proposed doctrine of proactive and adaptable defence should make such underhand attacks far less appealing for the perpetrators in the future. What is known is that the attacks were committed with the sole intention of sewing terror among the Bretonian people. The only true response is one of contempt for our cowardly foes, and one of solidarity - solidarity with your House, her soldiers and each other. The barbarity of our enemies can only serve to highlight the best elements of the civilisation we now strive to defend. PROTECT YOUR HOUSE: Have you been a witness to these heinous attacks? Do you have any information about the attackers, their methods or their vessels? Following an encounter, are you suffering from headaches, hallucinations or other symptoms associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? If so, please identify yourself to the BPA or BAF immediately. Looked like one of those [CENSORED ON ORDER OF THE BIS] that my buddies in The Core and I blow up every so often. They usually stick to the Omicrons, though. Also @SheepleShaker87 Fite me irl. I'm ex-Liberty Marines. I've boarded a Gaul battleship. Royal Marines are absolute pushovers. No Liberty Marine worth anything would job like that. I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed out something like this! @SheepleShaker87 I wouldn't be surprised. It is widely known that Liberty [REMOVED (false information)]. I mean, are they too expensive? More expensive than lives? Why isn't every Police and BAF ship outfitted with those? I guess the minister of defense and his admirals prefer fancy summerhouses over the people they are supposed to protect. I wouldn't be amazed if 1 was cheaper than a toilet in one of those summerhouses. I'd enlist, it's all I can do, just to stop all that selfishness, idiocy and corruption. If Bretonia is to survive we need more men and equipment.... not bickering by crusty old politicians who went to 'public' schools!
