Some interesting coincidences...

When I approached Oniros, both of us wanted to play Junkers as more than CSV hauling criminal scrap collectors.

Oniros, just happened to be French (in real life). We wanted to include that so we decided that the "revolutionary Junkers" were from elite families that archived knowledge for future use by Junkers. They were intended top mirror the excessive styles of old France under the monarchs though we used "Centauri" images (from Babylon 5) to portray that. Oniros family was decided to be one of the "house books" (as background)... a family that raised itself along the lines of old earth French culture in order that France would be remembered and not forgotten. Two of our earliest members were French. Oniros avatar has a French flag on the sleeve.

The infocard line that we used to expand the Junker mythos was the one that says "no one knows their full influence" [paraphrase] and the line from the "Death Scythe" fighter that says , "The Junkers would never tell where they got the design from" [parpaphrase again].

Part of our motto is "Libre" and is included with a representation of a balance. Libre is the Latin word for balance and we saw the Congress founders as a group wanting to secretly influence the balance of power in Sirius. "Balance" is also the anglicized spelling of the french slang word for "informant"--such as police informant and we saw the Congress as both...gathering intelligence and then subtly exerting influence to move things in the Junker's favor--all covertly just as an informant would have to do.

Several players have asked me if I am French just from the avatar image I have.

So if the Junkers do indeed end up being the Gallia "balance"...

Ha! You head it here first! Talk about synchronicity.

I tend to agree with the speculation that the Junkers are the Galia influenced/founded/whatever faction in Sirius. The thought had crossed my mind, but I didnt give it any merit until you put it all down so concisely.

What's ironic is we established everything I wrote above BEFORE it was announced there was to be a mod update and that it would be Gallia.

Actually, I read a post a while back that said something along the lines of "one of the factions already in sirius is gonna be french spies, they work mainly in bretonia and liberty", and I thought...Junkers...just because they are the only faction with a "mystery" element actually written in their infocard.

There is also a note on the new infocard proposal that says Junkers are able to ally with lawful French factions.

Oohla-la! oui may rule ze world!
