Unable to get desired resolution - QuinnZai - 01-05-2016

I recently installed the game, (I haven't been around in a long while) and noticed the screen resolution was a little off when I saw the "Ne" of New player not showing. Also there is a small black pane on the right side because of an incorrect resolution being used of course.

I tried using the Use Desktop resolution button and it remained the same.
I set the resolution to my desktop's resolution and it still stayed the same.

I haven't changed any hardware since I last played the game.

Is the game unable to support 1280x1024? Because it's constantly on 1280x960 and that causes some stuff to not be visible.

Any ideas?

I think 5:4 is an illegal resolution for freelancer. Although in theory -dx should cover it but perhaps not.

Sounds like your monitor is offset for some reason--

provided your monitor has it's own button layout and isn't a CRT, there should be an option somewhere in one of said aforementioned button's menus. Good luck finding it.

Edit: Forced the resolution through another application and it made a difference. I don't know why it was offset the way it was. Also kinda off-putting that it still says 1280x960 but at least it works!
