New weapon for caps / changing Cerbs - Epo - 02-10-2016

G,

This thread is about the following thing:

1. Making a new weapon for our bricky bumpy biggy angry battleships which would have a chainfiring razor effect and damage equal-in-time with cerbs. Damage can be changed, however I would like to have a gun working this way, like the LSC forward gun but with higher refire rate.

2. Changing cerbs to meet the requirements above.

Choose 1 or 2, C&C welcomed.

We literally just got a change in guns for caps recently.
Are we never going to be happy about a change?

You mean the cerbby thing etc.? Yeh, this change was a good thing, but I would like to see a weapon working the way I've mentioned. It would look pretty nice and suitable for sci-fi space battles.

If something like this gets in the game what do you think is going to happen? Fighter players going to cry and the cap gets another nerf !

High damage rapid fire weapons are never a good idea. In fact, we're trying to move away from rapidfire weapons as much as possible considering the extra load they add to the server.

What I have been considering is giving cerbs AOE damage to compensate for their loss in range, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea yet.

Well, all the time I've meant more about the effect than damage itself. It can be lowered, no problem. Just if the gun shoots relatively fast, all those circles from weapon's effect would make a cool-looking proectile. Like some time ago @"Titan'" was working on cerb effects, one of them had a nice circles, which would make awesome effect with higher refire rate. A bit like beam stuff
