Screamer mine rebalance - sindroms - 02-10-2016

Yo.
Bomber gameplay has come a long way. I still remember the fun old days, when they were in no way slower than a VHF and could mount two minirazors for maximum deuchebaggery. Then people realized that stepping away from the whole instakill gameplay was probably a good idea.

The recent changes to bomber gameplay have furthered this thoughtset, but there still remains an issue with how these anti-cap ships interact with other snubs. Which is why I personally still do not fly ships that die to a single snac to the face.

I have a huge problem with screamer mines, which were relatively recently rebalanced due to this very same reason - their explosion range made smaller. This did not solve the issue, where people in bombers can still very effectively hunt snubs via using a mosq/screamer combo.

Obviously what I said above is an invitation for the whole server ''pvp elite'' to burst under their rocks and yell that if you die to a bomber in a snub, you might as well not play Disco at all.

My suggestion is very simple- to make these mines anti-cap only - buffing their shield damage and radius as well as perhaps lifetime, but also buffing their hitpoints in order for them not to be disruptable in the process. Effectively removing them as an snubfight element. Perhaps giving bombers the ability to mount Sunslayers and Starkillers (Not minirazors) as a sort of a balance, who knows.

Mines are currently completely useless against caps, +1 to this idea, as long as only bombers can mount them.

Screamer mines need to have their ammo reduced to 20 or 30. That would make snub vs bomber fights much less annoying.

if you could make mines being able to track down a target from ~2k
make their speed increase slow after it's been used
than yeah..would be good for bombers

Welp what's the point in making bombers more helpless against snubs? It is not that hard to counter mines, you only need to use your... cd I guess. But if you just want to make bombers useless against fighters it will make sense to nerf EMPs as well. And afterwards you will just have more lolfire-doublenova squads flying around, this is what your really want, yep, spazzy? :D

1. Remove guns from bombers.

2. Give them bigger powercore.

3. Expand their Nova/SNAC slots to 4.

4. Profit.

Screamers are indeed not acting as intended. They're supposed to be anti-caps and they're abused by bombers against other snubs.

The idea of making them non cd-able sounds good, but they don't need a damage buff. It's already very easy to drop a cap's shield when he's not shooting at you.

I actually like the fact that a screamer bomber can sometimes force a fighter to behave less aggressively towards the bomber. Bombers die very fast anyway (except a certain few light bombers), and the only way bombes have to deshield a fighter is a mine - EMPs suck horribly and might as well not exist for the purpose of deshielding snubs at all.

Rock-paper-scissor thinking is kinda silly when "logging bomber" means: ok, you die to 1 figher, and it is just a question of "how fast" and how much damage you can do before the inevitable happens.

I do not see a reason for a change, to be honest.
The toned down screamers are doing their job.
