I hate this life..... - Colonel Z.e.r.o. - 11-08-2008 My External HD isn't responding at all. I cut the computer off and it did nothing afterwards. The light is solid green and doesn't blink how it should. All I hear is a quiet clicking sound 1 second apart. It isn't my computer because it read the other, older HD, and it doesn't show up on my mom's laptop. It doesn't read at all. What could be the problem. I hate this life..... - Jihadjoe - 11-08-2008 Sounds like the caddy for the hard drive is boned. Ive had a couple of those and they're great, but after a while they just cease to work. If you take the hard-drive out of the caddy and just use it like an ide or sata drive I'll bet its just fine. I hate this life..... - Colonel Z.e.r.o. - 11-08-2008 Caddy? ide? Sata? Wha? Could you elaborate? If you mean to it out of the case. OK. But how? There's no screws on it whatsoever? Which can't be right.
