Yes. Discovery is treated as a sequel taking place about two decades later. (With minor [maybe not so minor] retcons)

I believe he asked if the game exists.
Timeline wise it could but in most universes the respective games and books usually don't exist.

On March 4, 2003, Microsoft Games launched its acclaimed naval warfare game Star Trident. Set in the far future as a distant sequel to the game Subnaut, Star Trident exists in a universe where the Coalition (analogous to the Soviet Union) launched a surprise nuclear attack at both of Earth's poles, plunging the planet's land masses underwater. As a survivor of the beleaguered nations of Earth, the main character, Edison Trent, embarks on an adventure that will bring him face to face with a conspiracy that will shake the foundations of Earth itself.

If it did, I doubt anyone anywhere would know about it. Kind of like how we hardly know about the musicians of the BCE times. The game's already pretty obscure

Are you talking about uh... The timeline before Starlancer then? Because Freelancer is the sequel of Starlancer as many know, so it's pre-story is not Star Trident.

I take it that you didn't notice how I wrote the box summary for Freelancer as a submarine game?

There are holographic entertainment systems in the game. Why should it not be possible that someone on Manhattan recreated the story of Edison Trent as a holographic game/novel? I mean, it's canon that Trent was the big hero of the nomad war.
