OK, so i have made this new character, named Xeno-Bill.Clinton, anyway. i have been in two pvp engagments so far. and i have been killed within like two shoots. So, i know my skills are not that fail. anyway. what i'm getting at is. The ship i am flying is the Griffen, is there something wong with its hit box or what? i though light fighters were supposed to be hard to hit.

well if i remember correct the civ line is very vunerable to missiles, so if they drop your sheilds they probably can easily kill you with missiles with easy. Light fighters are weak in shield and hull as it is, but they should be agile enough to dodge most things.
Hope that helped
Saigo.

uh, no, that didn't help. I guess i was asking, is there a problem with its hit box, i feel like i'm flying a freakin gunboat with the hits i get, and i dodged like crazy!

the Griffen is a light fighter with the agility of a bomber. OK, not THAT bad, but it's substantially less maneuverable than most LF's, and some VHF's. Added to that the frailty of the civ line (component issue, should be fixed next version) and you've got a flying coffin.

I've tried one myself, and got blown up more than usual.

Well, that's what i wanted to know. Seems I'll have to be going and buying a new ship then.

I doubt it has a glitched hit box, considering it is an advanced vanilla unit.

Its just a big target.

I was just saying, something was odd here, i have flown several fighters in the time i have played D-FL and never have i been killed so easily. Heck, with my nomad light fighter, i was able to dodge like crazy and never got hit. the only way i got destroyed was because i stop and flew in a strait line while i was typing

No point in flying the Griffin as it is at the moment.

It isn't that much faster than the VHF and has so little hull it's unreal. I think it's slower than a crow.

So yeh, if you wanna fly a ship with no armour, no guns, and (for it's class) slow everything, plus a HUGE target, then buy ba griffin.

90% of all LFs are slower that the Crow...

yet I hear "don't touch the Crow it's perfect"... ohh yes

Even if you fix the hitbox, it's still a big target. Add in the powerplant that blows a fuse every time you pull the trigger, and it's weak shield, and it's not all that bad. It does have mad maneuverability, but some significant weaknesses to balance that out.

On topic, though. I'd trade that Griffin in for an Eagle. It's get better maneuverability than the Griffin (which is clearly a problem on the Griffin's part), more guns, stronger armor, and better shielding. If they ever get the Griffin's problems sorted, I might trade my Xeno Arrow in for one, but until then, the Griffin belongs in the trash heap.
