Short story competition - Strichev - 03-04-2016 It's been some time since we last had a proper story competition. As far as I know the last time we had something like this was back in 2013. 2013! Even then I don't think there was a winner. Probably the person responsible died due to the sheer horror induced by having to read 30+ terrible stories written by uninspired "writers" such as, well, myself. ![]() That is why I propose a new type of competition. I will create a Story Competition Editorship forum account or something similar and all entries will be sent to said account. Then this account will post all the anonymous stories and open a poll for the community to vote for the winning story. After obtaining a winner the identity of the writer will be revealed. This system will ensure that we get a winner not based on any personal preferences, connections or bias. Of course this means only new characters can participate - to avoid recognition of the writer by the way of knowing some famous character. Indeed, the removal of a "commission" or "judges" should expedite the proces and prevent any accidental deaths. To sum things up: - new short story competition - to ensure a fair competition entries will be sent to a special account that will then post said stories - to ensure swift processing the winner will be decided by means of a public vote - the winner's identity will then be revealed and the fortunate individual is going to bask in eternal if limited fame (perhaps an official announcement or something could be made) Thoughts? |
