EscapeJump Device - JohnyWalker - 03-14-2016

This idea, mainly, intended for BIG cargo transports due it will need H-Fuel, but it can be used for all other ships... (H-Fuel, Mox,... anything you want to use)

Imagine you are floating in space with engines OFF (engine kill). You have in cargo 500 units of H-Fuel.

Steps:
1. Engine kill
2. Aim where you want to go
3. Use the command (or key) for activate it. It will start to consume H-Fuel... lets say 5 units/second (Max limit 500 for example)
4. When you hit again the key (or command) if you consumed 100 H-Fuel, it will add 100m/s to your ship in the direction you aiming to. If you didnt press the key (or command) and 500 units consumed (the max) it will auto trigger, to avoid overspeeds.

So imagine you have a base at 90k away... you start cruise (350m/s), cut engine and start warming (consuming H-Fuel) for the EscapeJump (note while you warming you are losing speed), when you trigger the device (still engine kill) it will add that speed to your current one.

If you start egines at any time... you know what happens, same as you in cruise, cut engines an start it again, it brake to normally.

The effect of Cruise Disruptors still the same.

CAUTION: Better you aim good where to go, there are Sun Coronas, Atmospheres, Asteroids, NPCs, other players.... not good idea to hit something with engines cut, you will cannot control where you are going!

This is a bad idea, because it makes it too easy to get away.

It's also never going to happen.

I dont think so... you have engines cut in all moments... cant change direction and you will be losing speed constantly, it will just improve the time to reach destiny. Think you MUST warm the device so... When you full warmed to the max (lets say those 500 units) probably your current speed is 200m/s or less

Yes, in a community wherein we already have bare minimum in the way of player interaction, lets add in a " get out of interaction free" card.

Implementation of such a thing would utterly destroy what remains of the server.

I dont think so... who more will be moving 90k away from nowhere? only who know where the base is... no players will be around there for sure.

I say more... think, if the device consume around 5 H-fuel units/second... how much time you will need to can run fast with engines OFF? it is ridiculous to use it for runaway. If you need to engage it fast... maybe you can add only .... 50m/s?... no sense for avoid others hehe

Does it increase interaction frequency?

Does it enhance lore?

Is it a harmless moneysink?

These are questions a proposed feature should have positive answers to. This proposal does not.

Yes. You will have more time for to do more resuply routes.

Does it increase interaction frequency?
Yes. When you do a convoy for resuply the base, it would be fun to coordinate that stick jump, you must interact with all team with you for going together

Is it a harmless moneysink?
All depend where you buy, the price you set at the base and the H-Fuel you and your team want to use.

Well.... i said H-Fuel but it will be other thing.... MOX... or .... something

You don't seem to understand the questions themselves.

If you want group activity to supply base, there is already jump devices and civilian carrier classed as Gunboat available to all factions, but Xenos.

I just i dont understand that about "lore"... the rest is clear i think... and using a Jumpdrive in a civilian carrier for 90k.... have not much sense

how about you build that pob not that far away so you dont need something like this?

hidden storage where there's no risk and no time consuming thing as a consequence for doing it?you may as well have a command /store gold ore and will take that amount from your ship because what your asking is not much different from it...
