It's getting easier to find in the game, which have no limit to their ambitions.
Pirate demanded half my load !!!
I think if they continue to increase and these attitudes, not worth the work to continue to build the opportunities that the game offers.

Muhahaha. Another corporate weasel extorted.
To be more serious. It is what criminals supposed to do. Be the bad guys. Rob you like there's no tomorrow. Instead of investing in Battleship Scanner, get a proper armor. Have guns to fend of criminals. Choose Bison rather than Stork to be able to annihilate poorly skilled pirates.
Also, I highly suggest using http://imgur.com for image hosting. Free hosting, images are never removed unless you choose to. Easy tools to resize and highlight something.

Thank you. I used Imgur and enjoyed it. Now just learn to use the tools to resize.

What is point of this thread? You met criminal and he robbed you of half of your cargo, I see no problem there. You could end much worse, he could ask for all your cargo or for 10 or even 20 million credits instead, like some pirates do these days to ore traders (what is wrong in my opinion but it does not mean it is not happening).

If you're getting attacked by pirate transports, it'd be a good idea to invest in a battle transport and put a Capital Armor Upgrade VI on it with Charons. At least that way, you'll be able to fight pirate transports, even if bombers will still annihilate you.
