Looking for modeller for changes in IMG shipline - RL Cash - Jack_Henderson - 04-06-2016

Heyhey!

I am looking for some changes in the IMG shipline. Not only ingame credits for grabs, price can be negotiated. If the result is good, I do not mind putting in a really good price.

This is what I am looking for:

1. Retexturing of all IMG ships. The IMG textures are plainly ugly and boring.

2. Redesign of the Annapurna (mining freighter) and Nanga Parbat (3,6k transport).
a) They both need to lose the "duck theme"
b) The Annapurna needs to lose the blinding exhaust flame that no other mining ship has.
c) The Annapurna needs 4 hardpoints that are exactly the same range from a rock for the mining excellency that all freighter miners have now and the same other stuff as similar modern mining freighters.
d) IMG miners & transports ships should have a rugged, solid look. We look for "work horses" and not for "racing horses". It has to look as if it could take a scraping of an asteroid and shrug it off. And: they cannot have spikes and stuff that makes them stick in asteroid fields. We mine in T23, that means everything that gets stuck is unflyable there.

3. Slight changes to existing ships (they look "boxy", almost like minecraft things, and could do with some "smoothing", and updating to what nowaday models in Disco look like). Nothing radical, and nothing to change pvp-ness or stats. Perhaps this can also be done by clever texturing, but I am just a noob at all of this.

4. The Battlecruiser could do with a sexier ass. It is not a nice thing to look at when it wiggles.

Issues:
> I do not know who made the old IMG shipline and who owns the rights etc. If you know more (e.g. because you are a veteran modeller in Disco), let me know how this works here.
> I know nothing about the dev process, so I a would appreciate experienved Disco modellers who have already managed to get models into the game get on the job.

Replace because atrociously ugly:

Suggested slight changes: Remove the arc in the back. Makes it look really boxy and serves no purpose.

Everything else can be clarified in Skype or TS, or here.

Thank you in advance!

Jack

I think something like the old Corvo's texture would fit well:

It retains the homemade, rugged feel the IMG texture needs with all the panels like patchwork, while being much more aesthetically pleasing due to the simple, two-tone light-and-dark-grey design rather than the disgusting mess we have at present. Some of the ships already have a sort of two-tone thing going on, such as the Gasherbrum but in such drab colours it just looks awful. Personally I like the models of the Gasherbrum, Shishapangma, and Annapurna, although it could be less duck-like as Jack says. The rest including all the snubs are pretty bad, the Nanga Parbat is probably the most ugly ship in the game, especially with the current texture which makes it look like a rusty pile of scrap that's been bolted together and had engines strapped to it. Overall I completely support this request, we've had to fly ugly ships for far too long now.

I love the current utilitarian design. There aren't many of such ships.
