Disruptable Jump Drives - Skorak - 04-10-2016

Essentially, make them disruptable with CDs like cloaks are.

There once was a discussion about this already. 2 years ago. http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=116143

It is just a free combat dock essentially. I don't mind getting rid of a blue but if we try to secure an area it is more than just tedious to have the same ship return over and over again.

You would need way too much firepower to get rid of one in the little chargeuptime it has.

Suggestions:
Let CDs and/or Cloakdisruptors disrupt the Jump Chargeup.

We already had these planned to be implemented but I guess with alley going and no replacement who knows.

Honestly Jump Drives should just be straight up deleted. They're cancer, and I gurantee there will never be a way which we can make them integrate properly into the mod.

add more chargeup time to prevent it being used to escape from battle but remove the need of fuel so it still can be used,just not defensively ..

I suggest;
Jumpdrive Mk IV should allow you to jump 8k away
Jumpdrive Mk III should allow you to jump 5k away
Jumpdrive Mk II should allow you to jump 2.5k away

not random jump to other systems
Each jump will require 150 Fuel
Recharge time;
JD2 = 20 second
JD3 = 40 second
JD4 = 60 second

As a person who made the thread linked by Skorak, I wholeheartedly agree. They still have 0 counterplay and are still abusable, the only difference is that not so many people do it. That doesn't mean it's not broken though, and should finally be balanced out.

@"Titan'" I can see your thought on it being used to reposition yourself in a fight with a battleship, and the idea isn't bad at all. That'd remove any jump trading possibilities with a JD4 though.

It is better than current system jump mech lol
You will still have chance to catch a battleship in fighter/bomber

Jump trading already removed because you can't jump with 5ker transporter so also it is limited to 4 system

I actually like this idea, great way to reposition yourself or to jump out of a messy situation, +1 from me aswell.

I actually like this idea, great way to reposition yourself or to jump out of a messy situation, +1 from me aswell.

the new problem that will cause will be the balance of the heavy and light battleships....a heavy battleship will manage to close the distance while still maintaining its powercore to destroy the light one

CD should not be able to disrupt a cloak or jump drive just because there was no alternative(even if it is now for cloaks) ,so the only compromise will be to increase the time needed to get out of battle and instead only be used to get into one..
