The story of Mephisto, a young lane hacker who seeks revenge.
Race: Caucasian
Nationality: Dutch
Date of birth: January 13th 800 A.S.
Reason for joining: Avenging the death of his parents.
The story begins with Hendrick Speerdyke. He and his wife, Mathilda, lived a happy life on New Berlin. Hendrick was an officer of the Rheinland Military. After 20 years of faithful service and saving up, Hendrick decided to retire from service, even though he knew that he could be deployed again in times of war. But things were too peaceful for a war, he thought, and Hendrick and his wife decided to have a beautiful baby boy. They named him Leon. He was teached the ancient Dutch language, as was an important part of their culture.
When the Nomad War began against all odds, Hendrick was put into service again, being one of the most experienced military officers of his planet. He was given a job as officer in the command of the Rheinland Military. In the first months, he had fought many battles and gave support wherever he could. He was part of the rescue team that went to Freeport 7, he assisted with the destruction of the Order fighters that destroyed the RNC Donau and had led a major battleship in the assault on Planet Sprague.
However, when the Rheinland Military went to war with Kusari, Hendrick soon found out that many of his commanding officers were infected by the Nomads. He therefore decided to desert from the army; in a desperate escape attempt he shot one of his infected commanding officers and just barely made it into an escape pod. He then landed on a planet nearby: Shikoku.
On this planet he would survive 33 days before finding a people smuggler, who could take him to safety. Because he deserted the Rheinland Military, he had built up some favour with the Shikoku inhabitants. The people smuggler brought him to the California system, in which Hendrick settled on Los Angeles for the time. He managed to get a part-time job at a big communication company. He used confidential information to program a satellite, with which he could make contact with a Rheinland communications center. After a long period of searching, he managed to find his wife and child.
After the Nomad War had ended, people were free to move again. Mathilda and Leon were transferred to Los Angeles. Hendrick had got a full-time job at Ageira Technologies in the meantime. They lived happily again.
Until one day, when Hendrick’s department at Ageira Tech got a new managing director. The new man in charge began abusing Hendrick and his colleagues, which caused riots and large scale fights between the Ageira management and its employees, in which Hendrick was shot by a Liberty navy officer and ultimately killing him. Mathilda was imprisoned for treason a few days later, ultimately getting her killed too due to starvation.
Ever since the loss of his parents, Leon (who had just turned 20) had been trying to find out the details behind their deaths. He was an exceptionally smart boy who had particular interests in computing and programming. Through hacking digital government archives, he found out that the Liberty government had been funding Ageira Technologies tremendously and had been helping them win the riots by instructing the Liberty Federal Police to shoot any rebelling Ageira employees on sight.
From that day on, he swore to destroy Ageira Technologies and disrupt all Liberty funding. Leon joined the Lane Hackers under an alias, hoping that he could avenge the deaths of his parents.
And so, Mephisto was born…
