Do you need a mining vessel and a mining laser to mine not ore commodieties as flourine, alien organism, artifacts, scraps and toxic waste?

yes,for premium scrap mining you need a junker or alg ship/id/iff(see mining guide for specifics) ,etc..

I believe you can mine everything with any ship and any guns ( at very slow rate ) , but you will only get mining BONUS ( mines MUCH faster ) if you have matching ship/mining guns/ID/IFF !

Mining vessel with mining guns would be a safe bet for mining said goods faster than a transport randomly shooting rocks. Some IDs even have bonuses on some of these non conventional mining goods, like GMG and Samura for Alien Organisms, and Corsairs for Artifacts.

^ as one who pretty good understand newbie way of thinking , i believe @Banano just search for a way to mine with as bigger ship as possible .
I have seen countless newbies trying to mine with mammoth with mining ID and guns wondering why isn't working !
Answer is always same :
MUST match ALL to work , ID,IFF/Ship type/mining guns/ore type !
Biggest ship that allowe trading/mining are Junker salvage frigate , multi-use Hegemon and GMG Kamome .

Yes, as mentioned.
You CAN mine all of these things WITHOUT the mining turrets. The mining turrets and correct ship and ID gives BONUSES as to how much drop. Although, most non-ore things drop in abundance anyway.

So three categories of mining.
- Elements (Laser and weapons)
Such examples for this is Scrap Metal, Gold, Silver, & Copper.
- Minerals (Laser assisted only)
Such example for most lose crap out there such as Water, Deuterium, Neon, Hydrocarbons, & Diamonds.
- Complex On-Site Refinement Stages (Laser assisted and/ or faction's weapons w/ Special ID bonuses)
Such example as Toxic Waste, Premium Scrap Metal, Alien Organisms, & Alien Artifacts.
