Operation Tourbillon - Conclusion - Alley - 05-20-2016 First of all, congratulations to all participants. The staff hope you've enjoyed the event despite some issues that arised. The event has been reduced to 200 from the initial 500 as we have quite overestimated how long it would take for the event to be completed. The administration has also decided to cut it short due to the strange behavior that we were starting to witness coming from some community members The event was just here to have a good time and winning or losing would have absolutely no impact and we were a bit surprised to see some people take it way too seriously. Either way, we're looking forward to the new events to come and hope you will enjoy them. In order not to be lost, here are the full scoreboards now that the events have been locked. Due to a bug related to the use of commas in character names, some players have unfortunately seen their personal score eaten by the event plugin. Global Scoreboard
Gallic Scoreboard
Liberty Scoreboard
RE: Operation Tourbillon - Conclusion - Inferno - 05-20-2016 Leave it to the comma to make sure I don't get included in the scores...I don't think I killed anything safe for two freelancers working for Gallia. Sad to see it cut short. For the record, what was the strange behavior and why was it a reason to pull the event rather than, dunno, remove the offending community members? RE: Operation Tourbillon - Conclusion - Alex. - 05-20-2016 "LNS--.Lake" should be "LNS-Salt.Lake" but the swear filter for 'Salt' breaks it. RE: Operation Tourbillon - Conclusion - Jack_Henderson - 05-20-2016 Was fun before it was ruined by sadly quite a few people who abused game mechanics. I hope that next time Admins mercilessly weed out those (deleting ships should be the standart punishment for being destructive in these events), and that the players who just have to test the borders do not even try to do it for fear of losing very expensive stuff. This is the first event that left a rather bad taste for me. Not because the event was bad. But because it showed how little Disco players can be trusted to play the game nicely. That's how I was "put out of action" during the last battle I had: Quote:[19.05.2016 20:27:48] Wild.Wind:404: //Better don't come bub. Was during some break in a battle near Battleship Embuscade, the Liberty Navy had more or less pulled out, thought some were gone to refill, all battles had stopped, and I was sure all my enemies were farther than 10k then, so I docked to restock. I got those PMs shortly after undocking... I logged off straight away, pissed and wondering what was the point of that kind of foul play during such an event. Always, always take a screenshot with a timestamp when you dock. If there is nothing less than 10k from you, ignore the PMs and engage once more. When the sanction comes up, post the screenshot. If the admins have any decency at all, they'll reverse it. That was me.
If you want get a trial by forum, go for it. But, when i am getting shot at by snubs, solaris missile gunboats, razorboat cruisers in the middle of a 6+ Valor wall bored because no caps came to them at their base, and some of my snub targets dock and come back refilled... Welp. What did you expect? Nah. I had already too much fire trailin' my arse. Consider it a favor, since i took the time to warn you. <3 |
