FLHook commands - 13CentKiller - 11-25-2008

Today more than other days, I have noticed a lot of players trying to either re-name their characters or get a ping reading enter the command wrong. That means whatever they typed won't be entered as a console command, but general chat.

It is annoying when Bob and Jane are role playing in system when Mr.LOL tries to re-name himself to Mr.LULZ in system chat, but fails. Not only do you ruin the atmosphere but it kinda gives away the fact your renaming your character for some unknown reason. And I know a lot of characters have been renamed due to being unpopular with the lawfuls;)

So here is my tip of the day.

When you go to enter a command, wether it be /givecash, /renameme or /ignore do it in the client side console chat.
  • Press "Y" and Click "System Chat" at the top left hand corner
  • Hit "Enter/Return" to bring up the text box at the bottom of your screen.
  • Now hit the "UP" arrow key (Below the Enter/Return key) to navigate to the the CONSOLE.
Don't think that using this will broadcast your mistake to the whole server. Regular players do not have that permission. It will however stop your command (if wrongly in-putted) from leaving your computer and being displayed to everyone in the system or the person you are talking to.:)

As a general tip, you can write a message and hit the "UP" or "DOWN" Arrow keys to select a different destination for your message. For example: If you have accidentally written your long sentence in "System Chat" You can hit the "UP" arrow key to select "Group Chat" (if of course you are part of one.) Or the console. I use this all the time.
At any time you can hit the "Escape" button and your message will be erased. This can come in handy too.

FLHook commands - swift - 01-07-2009

Add this command too:

/fi name
with the /fi command paired up with something you can invite an entire faction.
For example, I want to invite 5 CR members to group, I type:

/fi =CR=

I have a possible question for cannon relating to the FLhook commands. I was wondering if you add in maybe a /timer command, I come home for lunch at night when i work, and I would love to be able to get onto FL and not have to worry about keeping track of my lunch hour and maybe just have it pop a message up saying a custom message, not sure if it's possible or not.:)

i renamed my char and now i cant connect to server :/

on Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7
i renamed =LSF=Kane182 to Tom-DeLonge
by using /renameme

then it crashed and i cant connect again about 30 minutes now

It says Connection has been lost. Either the server you were conntected to has crashed .. and there were 180/200 players..

The /renameme command boots you from the Freelancer.
It says" Connection has been lost"
Just log back in and your name will be changed.

It's all working fine, the server is either full and your server list hasnt updated
or like you said. it's crashed because of an (usually) unrelated other issue.
