ok.... i was randomly engaged in a pvp fight. no biggy. during the fight all of my gear was damaged. 4 or 5 guns, 3 missle launchers, counter measures etc. so i fled and docked cause well you can't win a fight if all of your gear is inoperable. Then everything was gone completely: guns, launchers, mines, countermeasures all vanished from inv. the ammo was still there but that was it. what gives? i know i have repaired my weapons before. it just sucks cause i lost a codename and well it's several million dollars to replace the stuff. i want to know what i did wrong so i know not to do it again.

When you dock, the server "saves your game"..
Therefore, by docking you "saved" while your weapons were gone=You don't have them anymore..
It happened to me once too, sorry but you can't do anything about it now. Buy new ones and watch out..

If you're weapons were actually destroyed, then that explains it.
Your ship loadout is saved once you dock, so if you dock with weapons missing, those weapons are gone forever.
If they were just damaged, but still attached to your ship, something odd happened.
Edit: Suggestions for the future: If you lose valuable weaponry in a fight, Its probably best to just get destroyed. Suicide after you flee if you want, or just lose the fight. Either way, youll respawn with all your weapons

so weapons CAN be completely destroyed? the fight was my first real beating so i don't know this stuff. i knew they could be damaged but gear can be destroyed beyond repair?

Yup. Weapons can be targetted specifically.

If the guy you were fighting was a torper or missiler, you're bound to lose gear unless you learn how to dodge it, what were you flying?

In the event of such things happening to me on a catastrophic level, I engine kill and go into a spin.

Once a weapon is gone from your equipment view (Either by opening the menu, or you can view your weapons listed in the bottom right corner), it is completely destroyed.
Missiles/Torpedoes/Nuclear mines are notorious for stripping weaponry.

anyhow. thanks for the advice and the info. since that is the case i will probably just flee from pvp fights cause well i don't want to lose my precious gear. till i get better at dog fights anyways. on another note i have noticed that every outcast that i have encountered with my ravenclaw and lvl 10 shields and armor VIII upgrade can still 2-3 hit kill me what can liberty use that is equal in power to whatever it is they using. what is the best defense for such powerful weaponry? please don't say dodging. literaly 1 shot takes shields down and 1-2 shots finishes.
