stuff - Alley - 07-13-2016 So most of you know I tried to be less involved in disco since last summer, which led to the election of a new lead dev. Some of you knew what the reason was, but others didn't. Last summer I was offered the chance to attend a programming school for free for a 6 months 35h/week course followed by three months of internship. This monday I had a final presentation in front of a jury made of professional developers and based on the project synthesis I spent an awful lot of evenings on and this presentation, they'd give me the degree or not. Well. Today I have the results of 9 months of seriously painful days. They've validated both modules which means I have the degree and I'm supposedly a real programmer now. so ye, 2srs4flood I know but I think it's fair to tell disco has been a major driving force for me. Not the game, but each of you that have been supportive of what I was trying to provide to the community in order to make disco a better experience. It didn't always go well, some stuff broke and some shit happened but all in all despite the lack of people willing or capable of helping me with the FLHook project, I atleast always found people to talk with about ideas, chitchat, and in some rare cases just be supportive when I had some bad moments irl. You've all contributed to this outcome in one way or another. Some a lot, others less, but all in all it took my mind off a crazy nine months rush from time to time and I don't know if I would have made it through without that. so tl;dr: thanks. Off to bed now. RE: stuff - Sombs - 07-13-2016 Congratulations!
RE: stuff - Lennox - 07-13-2016 Awesome stuff. Congratz on that. RE: stuff - Goldberg - 07-13-2016 Since my post got removed. Congratulation alley RE: stuff - Thyrzul - 07-13-2016 Congratulations!
RE: stuff - WesternPeregrine - 07-13-2016 Well, free tuition on a specialized school means they had already recognized your potential for the art. Congratulations on achieving yet another milestone of your life. Now go out there and achieve greatness, and spare a few hours for us back here in Disco from time to time. : ) RE: stuff - Venkman - 07-13-2016 Congratz Alley Lots of Love <3 RE: stuff - Cælumaresh - 07-13-2016 While I didn't like.. ehh.. support you or had talks with you, I do know you did a great deal for us. And despite all the flames you get for all the good things you do, you still keep going. So ill leave you to go to bed with the following words. Congrats on your degree, and thank you for sticking with us for this long Alley. The community owes a great deal to you aswell. Or at least I think I do. I left you a contact request on skype with an additional note there. RE: stuff - Kalhmera - 07-13-2016 Congratulations! you deserve it alley great work!
