My friend has been calling me... a ton.. (he's like 8) and he's playing FL now (i hope to heaven he RP's), but he wants a mercenary who flies a gunboat. He said he mainly wants to work for the Outcast Dons, by killing BHG, and LN.
Is there a gunboat that would fit his needs, that's not out of RP?

My best guess is whatever Gunboats Outcasts are allowed to use, or those allied to outcasts. Rogue gunboat? Maybe Hacker gunship?
Thing is, if he wants to be a merc, then that draws a line for him, I just don't know where that line is.

The Hackers are pretty picky about their gunboats. Rogue Gunboat's the safest choice.
He could, of course, request a Lane Hacker Gunship in their Diplomacy thread, but the Rogue Gunship doesn't have any such concerns attached.

In some ways I'd say put him in a faction that will limit him somewhat, instead of the free roaming ways of a merc who can go anywhere.

Put the guy in a OC faction so the guys there can keep an eye on him. Get him a VHF for now so he gets out a bit of exploring and sees how things work around there.
Then either register a LH GS in their diplomacy channel
or a rogue GB, yes.
