Lets say for example...

A BHG Manta is passing by FP 2...

A Lane Hacker comes out of the cloud and engages the BHG...

Wouldn't that be seen as a waste of resources? As to some factions the BHG are only partially hostile, when there is a bounty...

It doesn't make sense mostly...

Well, the thing is, the Pirates never know, and the BHG are essentially lawful because they never know. How are the Pirates supposed to know information that would be Out of Character for them to know? I don't think they should, because that would be powergaming on both the BHG and Pirate side, in opinion.

Also, in the described situation, there is actually an offer for the LH to gain money by killing Mercs, Freelancers, and BHG in Magellan. Check the Employment Office.

/SIGNED.

Pirate's do not attack ship's, unless they are a threat? or a profit in it? or they are sworn enemies(outcast/corsair example). Hell my outcast, and my BH both have sat there and watched police/military,and other so called friend's/neutral ship's die. WHY? because not in RP to do so,and or no reason other then to PVP.

good point, but i personally try and stay away from engagements. So if i see a lone BHG fighter/bomber/gunboat, i stay away, unless the come for me. then i run or try and make a stand, depending on how quick i think i could possibly down them, or how far away possible back-up for them is.

Well I was using the Hackers as a metaphore but...

It does bring to mind that the Lane Hackers knew that "EVERYBODY's Looking for you!" in Singleplayer...

I think pirate kill em because everyone are suspicious of them. Even house authorities are suspicious of them. There are tensions between BHG and basically all, except house corporation. And I can guess the presence of the later helps at letting the BHG keep stations within house space.

Thing about hunters is that, as ex criminals they purpose even larger threat to pirates than the navy or police as they know all the jumpholes, most hidden bases. If a hacker sees one and he has a chance to have atleast one peace of knowlige by the hunder die with him, all the reason to attack.

Not to mention that said manta can turn into a BC in 2 hours and return again.

Most but not all of the NPC unlawful factions have Bounty Humters listed as hostile.
The only unlawful faction that don't have BHG listed as Hostile are the Junkers, Farmer Alliance and Hogosha.
Oh and none of the Gallic unlawfuls seem to have BHG listed as hostile.

There's quite a few rumors around on pirate bases about how "if you get the chance to, kill one of those scum (Bounty Hunters)".

As for those Hackers in SP, Hackers are a slightly different matter...as they have access to just about every piece of information in Sirius...

Lane Hacker Bounty on BHG

Outcast Bounty on BHG (And other assorted factions)

So Lane Hackers have plenty of reasons to kill BHG. Bounty, mortal enemies, BHG work for Liberty and Ageira, BHG attack Lane Hackers and their allies.
