Old School DOS games - Zelot - 11-18-2016

I don't know how many of you are into old DOS games, but I came across this website a while back and I have used the crap out of it. It's pretty awesome and nostalgic for any of you, like me who grew up playing these games, and I guess maybe some of you kiddies want to take a look at what the stone age of computer gaming looked like.

If you have the chance, please check out Project Nomad. It was, and likely is, the reason I love freelancer so much.

Exploration, trading, bots you can send down to the surface to get commodities, bartering for items and information, different races...and it was awesome. Fun fact: there is, actually, a Shassa translator to be found in-game. Took me playing it again as an adult to find it.

It's available on the site, and I took it for a ride just a few weeks ago. One of my favorites.

Fun fact, it was actually in development with Disney, to be tied in with Space Mountain.

Ascendancy, Master of Orion, Reunion, Star Control 1-3, Master of Magic, Transport Tycoon... all great classics.

There is a MOO reboot coming out soon... if it hasn't already.

Just took a quick look around... some of the games listed brought back some very fond memories of time and friends I played with when I was in the Navy... I played a few of them on Subbase Pearl Harbor's e-club. (And good times were had by all...)

Thanx!

Yeah, saw it. There is also a good Open-Source-Remake of Transport Tycoon as well as Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control 2) out there, and some people made an MMO of Ascendancy called Omega Day. And the latest Civilization games are pretty much based on the success of Master of Magic. Can't wait to see the final version of Project 6014, as it is a mod sequel of Star Control 2. However, that will take a while, if they are still working on it.
