Reaper indoctrination VS Nomad infestation - Manny Calavera - 12-02-2016 So I was wondering which would be more effective and also less obvious to detect. Just so those who didn't play mass effect. This video should explain what reaper indoctrination. (also the beings in the picture are not reapers. Reapers look different and are MUCH bigger) RE: Reaper indoctrination VS Nomad infestation - Christensen - 12-02-2016 Indoctrination and Nomad infestation are two different things. In Mass Effect it's being said that the indoctrination process is basically mind control which can be done over long or short periods of time with different effects in both cases. In the game it's said that the faster you're being indoctrinated the more useless you become (ie: going insane), thus Reapers deciding that indoctrination over longer periods of time is way more beneficial to their cause as the indoctrinated individual retrains much of the characteristics which the Reapers need. Remember the Reapers much like the nomads, indoctrinate mostly people with higher status. While nomad infestation as we know it from SP is basically a nomad inside a human body. How people RP their nomad infected characters is really weird imo as the person wouldn't be the same at all. So yeah, indoctrination is harder to detect, since the infected humans in the freelancer universe would act differently more aggressively as the nomads want humans to destroy themselves while they chill in Omicron Iota with that sweet liquid cardamine of theirs. I knew that they were different. I was just wondering what people's opinions on the effectiveness and detection would be. Though I know much more about reaper indoctrination then I do about nomad infestation. I played all 3 games and read almost all the lore out there about mass effect, aswell as being a Huge fan of mass effect. And you are right about indoctrination. Rapid indoctrination tore the captured salarians minds apart. With slow and patient indoctrination the illusive man was a very effective reaper agent in mass effect 3, while he seemed to be a good guy in mass effect 2. |
