I just tried deactivating the discovery mod so I could continue my singleplayer game, and it failed to deactivate it and deleted my Freelancer.exe file so now I have to reinstall the game, has this happened to anyone else or can anyone tell me why this happened?

Numerous possible reasons, but I always do 'Restore backups' rather than deactivate the mod.
Works every time - flawless.

dam it happens to me as well........everyone of the betas i had to reinstall
my freelancer has a nasty habit of not *completly shutting down* like you click exit,it closes down to the desktop,and go Ctrl alt delete and it says its still running when you click on processors.
this was the mistake i made with the betas and it ended up nearly deleting my whole freelancer folder
