Jump Drives - Sombs - 12-02-2016 Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I remember to have seen an Outcast Sarissa in Pennsylvania who was in a battle with another Liberty Capital, and the Sarissa used a jump drive to jump away successfully during the normal flight. Is this still a thing? From what I've seen so far, jump drives requires the ships to stand still - not that I have seen many jumpers so far (Actually only the AFC Bustards and the Aurora Borealis). Is there a difference between the differen jump drives series regarding this? RE: Jump Drives - Emperor Tekagi - 12-02-2016 I didn't need to stand still during the last jumps I made. I am pretty sure the Jump Drive type doesn't change this. (Also never jump while being inside a trade lane, I did this yesterday. Result was a glitched Trade Lane from the Ravine to Norfolk) RE: Jump Drives - Kosa - 12-02-2016 No need to stand still, but all Cruise Disruptors interrupt the jump charge! So any ship with a CD slot will prevet you from jumping away. RE: Jump Drives - Antonio - 12-02-2016 They used to be completely broken for years with 0 counterplay and it was finally changed half a year ago when they were made cdable. Good riddance. Edit: You don't have to stand still during the charge regardless of the jump drive type, but it's advisable on the mk IV because other ships jumping with you need to line up and it's hard if you're moving. RE: Jump Drives - Stoner_Steve - 12-02-2016 Jump Drive Mk 2 and 3 can charge and jump while moving, the mk4 (trade jumper) requires the jumpship to be still in order to capture the other ships along for the ride RE: Jump Drives - Sombs - 12-02-2016 Okay, thanks for the answers!
RE: Jump Drives - nOmnomnOm - 12-02-2016 You can move but the problem is with people bumping. Especially npcs. RE: Jump Drives - Hannibal - 12-03-2016 (12-02-2016, 07:40 PM)Sombra Hookier Wrote: From what I've seen so far, jump drives requires the ships to stand still the JD mk4 requires you to stand still because you need to tractor the fuel since its easier to drop it in space rather than have another ship trading you each x seconds small amounts and if your doing it for the purpose of trading you may want all ships filled with commodities other than fuel.. the other doesn't have this kind of limitations ^ RE: Jump Drives - nOmnomnOm - 12-03-2016 But the thing is that you can still move around unless you get bumped. That charge wont stop otherwise unless you get too far away from being unable to tractor anything. Technically if you were to drop some fuel in a line and have the jumper follow that and tractor as he charges then he can do it. |
