5 year old - flimp101 - 01-02-2017 so i got a 5 year old boy that wants to play freelancer like his dad, i can set a path for him and he can follow it just fine. soon i think he will be able to buy stuff and know the rout to sell it himself , but if he runs into some one he cant read. not even sure he would let me know if he seen words. this gives me a rp issue with him playing. just wondering how the community fills about him being on and if anyone has any suggestions. ( also this really encourages him to start trying to read and stuff so i hate to tell him no but i also understand this isn't really a community set for little kids. RE: 5 year old - Backo - 01-02-2017 First thing that comes to mind is setup his ship as Zoner as it'll be harassed by pirates way less. RE: 5 year old - flimp101 - 01-02-2017 it would seam to fix a few problem.. but still valuable cargo is valuable cargo and pirates want it. wonder about fixing it in his name some how,, like death, bird. maybe it could play into the rp without him needing to communicate? dont care about him getting shot or robed its part of the game. just dont want people after him for not role playing RE: 5 year old - Alley - 01-02-2017 This is maybe one of the rare cases I could see a justified use of the Recruit ID if that can allow him to play the game without too much trouble. RE: 5 year old - jim-drover - 01-02-2017 i see no problem in that, maybe some kinda special tag to let us know its him . an admin protected status incase things go wrong untill he can understand and react to the rest of us
RE: 5 year old - Zelot - 01-02-2017 Or, you know, Open SP? RE: 5 year old - Diana.Daymarova - 01-02-2017 I can see just a little problem. Not that I wouldn't trust you, but more people could come and say: I have a kid, it wants to play FLD, it can't speak english, so give him "special recruit ID for trading", please. Some of those people would abuse that just to trade carelessly without themselves being pirated. I see this a bit unfair, but maybe it's okay in case you have a kid for sure. Let the whole community decide. RE: 5 year old - Ayman - 01-02-2017 that 5 years old guy is awesome, one of my friends met him in the game and was helping him as much as he could and i hardly believed it lol. may god bless him for his parents he will be a great man
RE: 5 year old - flimp101 - 01-02-2017 well he has only been on like once or twice so far flying a transport that said something like "im 4 cant tx", (just about to turn 5 on the 14 of this month, setting up a computer for him now for mindcraft and freelancer) i dont like that ship id much little.titan is his ps4 name and i would like to use that, if i did i guess using the ship name somthing like \5/Little.titan with a recruit id if the admins are ok with it and then the gaming community will know what there dealing with. i appreciate the community being willing to accept this and he will have a blast with it. also i know ally is a admin but do i need to talk to any other admins about this to get proper permissions for the id and tag? RE: 5 year old - Epo - 01-02-2017 Alley's text wasn't in badmin green tho. Wait till ya get some green clarification. Personally I wouldn't mind if 5yo kid was flying under recruit ID. Let him have his fun with the game. As long as he meets some of experienced (or just not random lolwuts) players and they'll know who's he, they shouldn't create too much drama. I can't speak for lolwuts tho. They act in unpredictable way So yeah, give the kid some fun. Maybe ask him to finish single player campaign first to get some insight in freelancer's mechanics. (and cool storyline) |
