BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - Dieter Schprokets - 12-25-2008 I could use some help. Grin has already offered to be Recruitment Officer, and has begun that role, and I am thankful. Bluntpencil is also organising bounties on his own accord. No complaints there. Other Roles I can think of include: 1) Training Officer : Shall observe pilot skills and delegate Training roles for various craft. For instance, the Training Officer would select pilots as Templar Trainers, Gunboat Trainers, Bomber Trainers etc. Does not have to be a great PVPer, but should be a good one. Role is to organise training, not neccessarily do it him/herself. Training Officer must also start a BAF Training Thread in Events/Competitions Forum and in that, organise timing of training days/times on an ad-hoc basis. 2) Promotions and Awards Officer : Shall organise a system to promote members on a monthly basis. Promotion Criteria shall have due regard to seniority (time in faction), activity(time in game), PVP and RP skills, and Forum activity. Design of a formal evaluation system is not neccessary. (Example, RM's promotion system is very structured and works well, but I don't envision something that formal. Soliciting opinions of senior members works very well. Must have regard for timezones. Some members are great, but you'll never know if they live on the other side of the planet..) Shall also reccommend award recipients to me. Right now we only have the DFC and Carina's Cross. 3) Discipline Officer Shall have a dual role. In-RP punishment of misbehaving CHARACTERS, and faction sanction of misbehaving PLAYERS. Tough job, and will start out on tight leash, but ultimately will get more autonomy, to the point where they demote people and I find out afterwards, who and why. 4) Diplomatic Officer Tough One. But will handle all diplomatic issues. Authority will start out limited, and increase with time. I can think of a few people who can handle this one. Was also thinking of other roles including Second in Command, KOS list guy, Event Planner, but not sure how many of these I need. Volunteers? Comments? Discuss away. I'm gone till Sunday or Monday, so play with this to your hearts' content. EDIT : Was thinking of Lt Commanders and above for these roles. Preferably much higher for Promotion, Diplomatic and Discipline roles. Actual Trainers (As opposed to THE Training Officer) could easily be lower rank though. BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - bluntpencil2001 - 12-25-2008 Yeah, I'm a bit behind on paying a few bounties, due to holiday rubbish, but they'll be paid in a day or two, with a Christmas bonus. The money is sitting there, too. BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - guitarguy - 12-25-2008 I don't know if you where thinking of us lower-ranked officer, but I could certainly help with training. I consider myself a moderately good PvPer. I've also helped some newcomers pick out proper weapons for their Templars. Lt. Hobart (Don't remember his server name) is, in my opinion, an excellent PvPer. He's taught me some useful strategies in Salisbury. Of course, it's up to him to volunteer. I could help with diplomatic stuff too. I guess I'm too new to be making up BAF policy, but you guys could tell me what you want and I could dress it up and make the post look official and snazzy. (Interesting word) BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - Dieter Schprokets - 12-25-2008 Sorry, was thinking Lt Commanders and above, but actual trainers could be lower ranked. And yes, Hobart is very good. He would be a good trainer. For diplomatic stuff, you could help the upper ranked guy, ie be an offical "right hand man" to the other higher ranked guy, if they wanted the help. BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - Koolmo - 12-25-2008 I could discipline folks, although they might not like it... On the other hand, not sure a privateer should dress down a regular, would feel beneath meh:P BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - dr lameos - 12-25-2008 I'd be happy to take care of promotions and rewards if necessary BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - Dieter Schprokets - 12-28-2008 Got takers for 1) Darth Chernobyl : Training Co-ordinator, comes with a promotion to Lt Commander. You volunteer for that assignment, I have no problem justifying a promotion. 2) Koolmo : Discipline. Maybe make a regular BAF character to do so? You are good choice, because of your other faction experience. 3) Coriko : Already a Lt Commander, so promotions are a possibility. Got to figure out how, though. Maybe you get time in service data for me and feedback from other members? Next round of promotions I should do anyway. No takers for diplomat yet, I see. BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - Koolmo - 12-28-2008 Okay, want me to make a regular, forum only style char, say captain-commander rank? I'm sure I can come up with someone appropriatly jerkish.:P BAF : Delegation of Roles and Responsibilities - Dieter Schprokets - 12-28-2008 ' Wrote:Okay, want me to make a regular, forum only style char, say captain-commander rank? Use him to bust balls in game. |
