Demands - BaconSoda - 12-27-2008 Say a Pirate makes a demand, say I ask for 4 million credits to a train. Train pays me, but for whatever reason, I want more. Can I, as per server rules, ask more of the trader, like asking for a portion of his cargo for my buddies, or is he free to go? Demands - Lux - 12-27-2008 I suppose you could, though it would be extremely bad form on your part. If you change your mind about what you want, then wait for the next trader to come along. Demands - Baltar - 12-27-2008 If he's paid you ... you're done. Let him go about his business. When he passes your way again at a later time ... ask him for more credits or cargo then. If he pays up ... he goes free. Cycle continues. Demands - BaconSoda - 12-27-2008 Well, what if he is rude? Or generally uncooperative? Or shoots at me? I don't mean if I demand 3 million and he's polite and pays me, I won't just go "Oh, and another one!" I mean, if someone takes a while to pay, is generally suspicious, is very rude, makes a fuss, calls out for help, etc. Demands - jrgcool35 - 12-27-2008 ' Wrote:If he's paid you ... you're done. Problem with that is, that a trader will usually ask you for how long will i be free from being pirated again. You should usually give them 30+ minutes or 2 runs. Demands - Drake - 12-27-2008 If you get payment from them after they misbehave but before you ask for more, then don't ask for more. If they annoy you and you require more, then make sure they know it before they pay your original amount. Otherwise it's akin to reengaging, I'd say. Of course, if they continue to attack you or try and get others to attack you after they pay, you can just blow them up. Demands - Derkylos - 12-27-2008 I can see where you're coming from with the subsequent demands, many times have I been insulted after the fact...but, if you could make repeat demands, it would get stupid. Imagine: "2 million for safe passage" *trader says something insulting and pays* "ok, now another million" *pays* "and 2 mill more for my friends"...*pays*(maybe...)..."and another million"...you see where it's going...eventually, the trader is gonna get annoyed by your constant badgering and become non-compliant... it's in a similar vein to demanding 20 mill to start...blatant excuse to nuke the trader. I just make a note of their names and hit them harder next time... Demands - Kambei - 12-27-2008 Once you stop him, his life is in your hands and you can demand what you want... there is gentleman's rule dont ask more than is profit from cargo. Demands - LA-384 - 12-27-2008 I usually keep talking long enough to think of a proper fee. It also happens that i intend to ask for credits, but end up asking cargo, due to how the conversation went. If you are unhappy about your demand, you probably didn't spend enough time on forming it. That being said, i don't really see a problem in "demanding" a little extra if they caused you trouble. Just tell them why. See it like administration costs or something. |
