Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - mwerte - 01-04-2009 Couple of quick questions I had related to the admin notice here 1) Does this void rule 4.3 Quote:4.3 Factions are free to restrict or not restrict access to their home systems and tax players who enter home system. Access to systems that surround home system must not be restricted unless there's a war with another faction. 2) Why wasn't this done a few months ago when the 101st was blowing capships off the server left and right? Why only now when Bs| starts enforcing a policy of "no capships in NY" (which ironically this admin notice mandates). Why only now when this is probably the most liberal of the "capship regulations" around? Play nice Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Dab - 01-04-2009 Their notice was only on ships belonging to the same NPC faction. 101st could deny access to Zoners, or Lane Hackers if they wanted. But not other Outcasts. Currently all OC are allowed into Omi-85 anyway, its only the OC Dread that was restricted. Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Unseelie - 01-04-2009 I wonder, since it is only in regards to Bs|, what it means about other, unilaterally named factions. For instance, the RM, are they the Rheinland Military, or only just a wing of the Rheinland military? (same for every other unilaterally named group) Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Drake - 01-04-2009 Question: As far as these rules are concerned, are gunboats considered capships? Some people consider them so, some don't consider them 'real' capital ships (only cruisers and above), and gunboats are getting allowed for regular IDs where other capships require Guard IDs. Just want to clear this up early, before it becomes an issue (and it will come up, eventually). Another question: Are Order capships allowed in Liberty/NY if they go the long way around, rather than using Alaska? This will also likely come up, at some point. Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - ryoken - 01-04-2009 I think the staff thought hard, and long on this. I thank them, and i think they did a good job. Especially considering that LN (mostly indies) tends to break out the capship spam every time they find a group of fighters with no cap support of their own.. I have heard that in pretty much every extreme Admin notice, and in almost every case, it seems that the statement clashed with at least 1 rule. I just have to wonder sometimes.. They restricted capital ships and access to O85 from any independent Outcast who didn't register with them. Even members of Outcast factions needed 101st permission to enter O85 Let's not rewrite history and call everything peachy, eh? Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Dab - 01-04-2009 ' Wrote:But that's not what happened. Even members of Outcast factions needed 101st permission to enter O85I'm speaking of recent history, not what was being done back when Eppy was in charge before Jura. When Jura was in charge, the entire capship restriction was scrapped except for the Dreadnaught. Eppy's restriction on all caps and the way it was done was NOT accepted by everyone. I, for one, didn't agree with many aspects, but did agree with the NY rule, as in no cruisers or above in NY. And I'm still a firm believer in BS and Dread restriction. But I didn't agree with OC indies restricted from Omi-85, let alone faction ones. Now if your not going to speak politely, don't speak at all. It does nothing but incite flames. Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Ash - 01-04-2009 Well really your asking the admins this question as the admins are the only ones capable of truthfully answering it. Good luck. 'Ash |
