ATTENTION: This is a burst transmission to all Taiheiyo Consortium personnel.

The following channel is to be used as a communications hub for all Consortium activities carried out by our members. Any and all activities, ranging from regular shipping runs to large combat engagements. should be filed under a report submitted here.

In addition, consider this channel to also serve as a message board for any Consortium-wide notices that merit attention.

Good luck and safe skies out there, everyone.

Konbanwa,

Earlier today, Miss O'Brien and I started a patrol through the sigmas region starting from Ogashawa where we immediately spotted a Freelancer train in possession of contraband-categorized items, namely artifacts. After a brief while of continuous demands towards the pilot to drop the contraband, he complied and the artifacts were therefore destroyed. Following the incident, we were joined by Guild Gunboat GPS-Sakhalin and ALG's Director of Security Richter onboard the [ALG]-Schneesturm. The two ships accompanied us throughout our patrol in Sigmas region, where we engaged in talks regarding the situation in the Sigmas and expanding our two organizations' influence.

During our journey, we encountered a junker ship with Stabiline near the Freeport 7 wreckage, which was heading towards the Omicrons, and another freelancer transport which apparently didn't know how to speak English. Fortunately, the ALG Director was able to help us communicate. Sadly, the visuals for those two encounters was lost due to the unfortunate accident mentioned later in the report.

Unfortunately for myself, due to my lack of knowledge of the nature of the space in the Sigmas and what surprised lay there, my ship suffered critical damage as we passed through an explosive gas field which forced me to eject with my pod. Fortunately, O'Brien-san tractored my pod and released me at the closest GMG facility.

You will find all the relevant evidence and data attached below.

Konbanwa,

During a routine patrol of the Sigma-19 system I encountered a "Serenity" Class transport under the callsign of MHI|James.Harper who entered the sytem via the Honshu Gate. Following normal proceedure I attempted to scan his ship for any sign of contraband. Oddly enough when I initiated the scan my "Benzaiten" Class Very Heavy Fighter experience a brief power failure allowing MHI|James.Harper to slip away.

Being the extremely curious person I am I decided to follow Harper's trail once I managed to restore power to my ship. I followed his trail to the Sigma-17 system where it appeared he had jumped to Omicron Theta. Knowing that this was a common route used for smugglers I took up a position right outside the Omicron Theta Jump Hole in Sigma-17 and waited for any return traffic. Within 20 minutes I was surprised to see MHI|James.Harper once again appear in front of me. This time I was successful in scanning his cargo. As I expected he was carrying a full load of Artifacts that can be seen in the attached Images below. With my "Benzaiten's" power supply being unstable and with Harper being the first smuggler I have personally encountered while on patrol, I decided to show him mercy by simply demanding that he immediately take his cargo and leave Guild space via the Omicron Theta Jump Hole. He then unsuccessfully attempted to bribe me, with his offer of credits failing he then attempted to persuade me that allowing him to hurt the Guild's image was "Just politics". Angered at his disregard for our laws and customs, I again ordered him to leave the system immediately or face destruction. He wisely chose the former.

Below you can find the evidence and other relevant data.

Konbanwa,

After a long period of quiet I decided to deploy myself at gas miner Ogashawa for a brief patrol. Immediately after launch I noted an albatross class transport vessel moving through my position at the middle Hiryu cloud 5-C/D under the name "Premoc" carrying numerous sorted artifacts through GMG space. With the limited time I had there was only enough time to make cargo scans and ship readings before the ship engaged the tradelane and left the outer radius of my scanners. Attempting to pursue resulted in failure as the Preymoc moved into Kusari space before I was set in the back of the queue for the gate docking cycle. after I attempted to make contact I received no reply for the captain. I have only footage to incriminate this smuggler.

Hopefully this information will aid in operation Hattori.

This is Chief Science Officer Makoto Sandoval reporting in after yesterday's expedition,

Around roughly 23:30 Standard Sirian Time, a joint ALG-Consortium exploration team managed to track down an anomaly we had registered as emanating from within the Sigmas.
Search teams scoured every known system until finally encountering an abandoned survey outpost around Grid B3 of Sigma-13. According to initial reports, the outpost was orbiting a miniature star with some type of sparkling disc around it. We were notified of the anomaly and were dispatched to investigate immediately.

Given that it was the maiden voyage of the Kon-Tiki, Board Member Sora Kobayashi captained the vessel for this historic occasion. After a short flight, we arrived at the anomaly, which we have named the Meidling Anomaly after the ALG gunboat who first spotted it. Initial photographs revealed something completely unnatural. Something that should not even exist on such a small scale.

According to initial scans by both the RV Kon-Tiki and the ALG R&D vessel Cirrus, the luminous Meidling Anomaly is composed of a mixture of hydrogen and helium, along with some other trace elements. What appeared to be superheated plasma churned throughout, and small flares and coronal effects were measured. The disc surrounding the Meidling Anomaly was composed of varying materials, ranging from frozen gases to floating metals. For all intents and purposes, the Meidling Anomaly resembles a microcosm of a protostar. I doubt this occurred naturally, however. The mere existence of such a structure contradicts many of our preconceptions regarding stellar formation and the very laws of physics. The scientists who once occupied the station orbiting the Meidling Anomaly must have created this thing.

Unfortunately, the former inhabitants of the station weren't around for us to ask questions. The station was completely devoid of any signs of life, save for some bacteria and one corpse left behind by the former inhabitants. According to doctors, he appeared to have shot himself in the temple with a pistol that was recovered from his right hand. Some among the survey team suspect some type of foul play, however. The individual was Asian and likely of Kusari origin, which isn't surprising given the region we're in.

Further investigation revealed a server room left mostly untouched by the outside world. As we had hoped, vast amounts of scientific data were present inside the hard drives. Science teams from both the Consortium and ALG recovered plenty of data files. I can't speak for ALG's researchers, but we're still decrypting the data aboard the Kon-Tiki. We hope it'll provide some insight as to the nature of both the Meidling Anomaly and the station orbiting it.

Some freelancers and Order came by to investigate, though the latter lacked any real equipment or expertise with which to conduct surveys. Instead, he just drank a bit and offered libations to nearby vessels. The freelancers in question belonged to a small corporate entity known as Star Industries, ironically enough. After we determined that the Meidling Anomaly was safe enough to approach, we permitted them to conduct their own studies. Naturally, we had already cleaned out the station before they could retrieve anything. They did find the body and some old small arms, though.

I'm not sure how long we have until the Meidling Anomaly dissipates, or even if it will dissipate. In the meantime, I've requistioned for some extra equipment for our studies from Ames Research Station. They should be arriving shortly.

Sandoval, signing off.
