One question: Is it possible to become friends with the Nomads and so be able to land on thier base? (I was told it is possible by someone online who was not shot at by the nomads, wondering if it was true or a mistake?)

The only way to not be shot at by the nomads is to be doing a mission in that system.
So far there are only 2 systems where you can do that: Omicron minor, and Omicron Delta. As soon as you leave the system the mission is in they will act normally, eg try and kill you.
Otherwise he's probably got a mod called 'friendly universe' activated, the more nomads you kill the friendly everyone (including the nomads) will be, at least thats what the readme said, I've never seen the point of it myself...
Then again I have heard rumours on the server lately that you can become neutral to them by killing the order patrols and ships...

Aparently if you kill corupt kusari navy ships it makes you more friendly with the nomads.. BUT; they don't apear anywhere.. and the process is slow i've heard, and you cannot tell when your green or neutral cause the nomads arn't on the rep list.
I TRIED attacking the arch for ages.. -.- its actually controled by the corupt KU navy, but it done f*ck all.. I just wasted a LOT of time..

The Only way to get a white or green Rep on Discovery twords the Nomads is by Admin intervention. And the only people I might consider giving it to is Phantoms, and thats a far possiblity, other than that the only other people that have green to nomads are Admins, and there Role-play characters.
