Interpol - Zapp - 01-15-2009

Interpol: International Police. Politics does not matter. What matters is making sure criminals get thrown in jail, and that justice is meted out.

I discussed this with Monk and Sleipnr some time ago, and while we concluded it was a good idea, nothing came from it. Now I've been thinking again, and maybe we could get the BPA, RFP, and KSP back running again, as all three have fallen to the inactive side.

What would Interpol do? Would it allow police ships to leave their house to help other houses? No... maybe an officer-exchange program, but new ships with the correct ID would be made. What Interpol would do is combine resources. Make one extensive database of criminal activity, most notably about Corsairs and Outcasts (and any other inter-house criminals, like you can find LH in the borders Bretonia and Kusari). Also, one over-reaching bounty board, paid by an Interpol bank that is funded by all four House police agencies. All criminals in House boundaries would be covered by this board.

Further ideas? Also, this is a call out to the community: if you don't have a police character, look at joining the BPA, RFP, or KSP! Police are important too!

Are you suggesting a new ID for this, or just something integrated through roleplay, using the police IDs we already have?

It might be a good idea, but if there's a new ID for this, it could very well be abused as a Sirius Police Force ID.

Interpol - Zapp - 01-15-2009

Nope, no new IDs. Say, LPI officer Joe Blow is sent to Bretonia as an 'exchange officer'... gets a Hussar with a BPA ID and tag. But that was theoretical, and rather out-there. Don't know if it'd work... say, BPA going to Kusari? Nope, wouldn't work in that case... he'd get killed, probably.

Interpol - Orin - 01-15-2009

In that case, sounds like a cool idea. Between Rheinland and Kusari, and between Liberty and Bretonia, it could very well work.

Interpol - JakeSG - 01-15-2009

Politics is politics, coppering is coppering. All good police know that. Least in Terry Pratchett, anyway >.>"

The way I see it, police don't really give a damn about politics, they just want to keep the civilians safe. Cooperation between house police forces seems like a good idea, so long as they don't let the Navy's know it's going on.

Interpol - BaconSoda - 01-15-2009

I say that some Kusari and Bretonians might see eye-to-eye and work through Liberty and Rheinland for the exchange program. Others, though, just wouldn't, like Abigail Thorn. Though, the exchange program in itself is rather twitchy. It might need an overhaul.

Other than that, I like the idea of a unified bounty board. It's, overall, a sound idea.

Literally, Sirius police.

(Insert something about hypocrisy here.)

Interpol - Zapp - 01-15-2009

Not Sirius police. You won't see LPI ships in Bretonia, or BPA ships in Rheinland or anything. You have the ID, you stick to your ZOI. This is just a cooperation between the various police forces of Sirius.

Right.

Interpol - Orin - 01-15-2009

It's basically just an RP thing, n00bl3t. In effect, it would just be a BPA pilot with the name and history of an LPI pilot, or vice-versa.
