Bretonian New Years Honours. - pbrione - 01-20-2009 For those requiring clarification on their awards, I present the following extract from the Bretonian Royal College of Arms and Heraldry: List of Bretonian Honours Wrote:Knighthoods (full title, KBE - Knight of the Order of the Bretonian Empire) are special honours conferred upon certain citizens of Bretonia, in reward for outstanding service to the Nation and Empire of Bretonia in any field of life. These are non-hereditary and grant the title of "Sir" to male citizens and "Dame" to female citizens. They may be granted to citizens of Bretonia, or as honourary titles to special foreign citizens. They are awarded at the personal discretion of the Monarch, often on the advice of the Prime Minister. Historically the Fleet Admiral of the BAF and the Chief Commissioner of the BPA make recommendations to the Monarch for the granting of Knighthoods to members of their respective services in reward for exemplary duty. The Monarch also maintains the right to strip Knights of their Knighthoods should they disgrace themselves. For those being inaugurated into the Order of the Bretonian Empire, your respective insignia are being shipped out to you, and should be with you shortly. The Cross of the KBE is worn on the chest with the ribbon around the neck, the OBE and MBE insignia are worn on the left breast, above any other military or civilian honours. May I add my personal congratulations to those of Her Majesty, Sir Robin Francis Private Secretary to Queen Carina |
