The communique was sent out, and Teresa let out a relaxed sigh. It felt cheap, having enlisted in the Sixth Fleet just to knock out her opposition from Malta like this, but the payoff was worth it. Her quest to get out of her adoptive father's shadow had only begun.

After the complete disaster that was its predecessor's outpost... somewhere, the creature and its new best friend turn to one of its servants. "Any news from Megaera?" Jose looks up in surprise; that was a name he hadn't heard in a while. "With all due respect, Donna, who even is this Megaera? I've heard very little things about her."
Teresa pauses. "Well, if you have to ask, she is like a well-oiled machine, and like any machine, she is incomprehensible to ordinary humans, deserves constant reverence and attention, and is a thing to be deeply feared by the likes of you. Anything else?"
Jose visibly shrinks. Anything Teresa says he should be afraid of is indeed very frightening. Then Teresa shuts down the comm all the way from... wherever she is. The Altegracia continues to move supplies to a berth on Valetta for a project of House Fexx...
