Set up a Collect service for Pirates. Take stolen Trader loot off thier hands for a modest sum.
Take the stolen cargo to its usual destination (Or closest profit making base).
You could sell that cargo yourself but its much better to sell it to a Trader for slightly less profit but more RP. Alternativly, make your cargo ship Pirate tagged itself so you cant dock and sell the loot to a third party... Like the Junkers for example who will take it to the lawfull holdings.

I do quite like that idea, though a Junker would be most suited, and i'd still like to sell it on to someone else though

An interesting idea, but I couldn't personally do it, there are some religions in Freelancer, discordianism, nomad worshippers for examples, I wouldn't add more - especially not any with similarities with the major religions present today. There is potential, I'll do something simpler, and less controversial, first I think though.

What about a banker, you could loan new players money for an amount of interest, the money you would use would be entrusted to you by more experienced players for a modest return!

You could be a jester or a town crier or a bard or a troubadour. Cant really make money as a town crier (shouting out the news and what not) but you could make money as the others, I'd definitely pay credits for someone to do silly things and be entertaining or to follow me around telling everyone how awesome I was and telling stories supporting said awesomeness. I might even pay to here classic tales of Sirus, in game that is, there's lots of background material to work from.
