Vacation - Sombs - 03-17-2018 Hi! Some of you already knew, others guessed by reading the last entries of Defending the Delta or watching the two latest videos on my channel. I'll be on a vacation/cure for my hands - some of you might remember me mentioning I have carpal tunnel syndrome, which makes moving my hands rather difficult sometimes. It's getting better and better now, but I finally got the health insurance to pay me a rehab, which means I won't be home for the next 1-3 months, depening on how long I'll stay there. That means I won't be able to log into the game, and I will most of the time not be around. That means the shoutbox is contested territory again until I reclaim the throne. This is by the way not flood, so try to be funny somewhere else. Do me the favor and don't bully out anyone or burn the place down. I'd really like to come home and see House Steiner still preventing Gallia from taking over Sirius. Discovery is having a good time again, numbers are increasing, people are rather enjoying the game and have fun together instead of crapping on each other over pixelpride, false power and lobbyism. That's rare, so make it last! RE: Vacation - Enkidu - 03-17-2018 Ouch, Carpel Tunnel is a pain. To good health and functional rehab. I've got a motor control disorder; got some empathy for you there. We might have irritated each other in the past, but you're probably one of the most exemplar members of the community. I hope you make admin some day, should you ever decide to go that road; I get the impression you'd be proficient at organising events. Best wishes, Sombs. We'll try to keep the server fun. : 3 Also, you can't fool me into crying with those Freespace Blue Planet camera angles. Sobbing RE: Vacation - HassLHoFF™ - 03-17-2018 Good luck with the rehab. I doubt anyone will pull of your throne of the shoutbox. RE: Vacation - Lanakov - 03-17-2018 I'm sorry you're beset by these troubles, Sombs. I worked a little in workplace safety and the carpal tunnel's a nasty one. It's our generation's illness. I'm very glad you're already getting better, I'll pray to Général de Gaulle that your recovery goes at lightspeed ! You've done wonders for this old community, and as an old fart concerned with its well-being, I am very grateful for your efforts. So get back on your feet (hands, rather) and return to us promptly in good health ! RE: Vacation - Thunderer - 03-17-2018 Nooooo! The most fun person after Foxglove has fallen into a black hole! Nice video, by the way. I actually expected more Celine Dion in it. Take your time, your hands are important. Well, idk, but Foxglove told me they were for him. The later you return, the Steinerized you will see the Universe. We can probably survive 3 months without you. Well, at least I hope so. RE: Vacation - Reddy - 03-17-2018 sorry to hear that. best of luck and get well soon. House steiner may expand beyond recognition in 2-3 months. RE: Vacation - Nerva Regis - 03-17-2018 Get well, Sombs! I hope your recovery goes really fast ^^. RE: Vacation - Yehn Akhabila - 03-17-2018 Get well soon, Sombs! We only met oorply in game, but I hope we will have nice interactions someday. In the meantime, the Dragons can provide a little aid for House Steiner expansion
RE: Vacation - Antonio - 03-17-2018 Good luck with the recovery. I'm curious if an occasional hand spasm counts as or can become the carpal tunnel syndrome since it's muscle vs nerves, but I used to get them when my right hand muscles were in constant contraction from all the intense gaming style that can last a long time (ex. Discovery snub pvp) on top of my boxing sessions where the hand would be fixed with hand wraps as well as contracted and punched towards things. Add wrong hand positioning at the PC (where the wrist itself is taking all the pressure rather than the wrist bone) and I got the spasms. They're completely gone now btw. RE: Vacation - Sombs - 03-17-2018 Thanks for the support! I actually had a surgery because of it already but it didn't go optimal, sadly. I think there is a funny video of me doing a snub fight against @Shalo where one can see my hand just stopping to move while dodging, so it is sort of annoying. But after the rehab things might be better, because it is either a training-related thing or they just need to do another cut. Then I get a pacman-shaped scar like Skorak has.
