So for some reason my ' wont work when pressed. but my " will... they are both the same key and the " requires shift to be pressed (obviously) was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix it.

What operating system are you running? Win7 Win10 XPsp3?

Did you try it using some linux live media or recovery mode or something?

I have to use UK keyboard to get the key to work... dunno why it wont work for US keyboard layout.

This problem appeared to me recently too (Win7). Maybe some windows update messed with it, don't know. Anyway if you press ''space'' after ' it will type ' with no space behind. Also, as you noticed, UK version works fine.
