Easy image posting on Disco forum - evanz - 04-15-2018 I've seen a lot of links badly done for images posted, so I thought I’d make this quick post to show an easier more effective way Make an account with Imgur.com (it’s free widely used) Don’t use the normal image linking icon - ![]() Use the one next to it - ![]() Copy both “addresses” into it and click insert ![]() Then change the line you see e.g. [ url=https://i.imgur.com/mXeCqhP.jpg]https://i.imgur.com/mXeCqhP.jpg[/url] The 1st part is [ url=https://i.imgur.com/mXeCqhP.jpg] as normal But change the 2nd adding [img] and [/img] and a “t” So it looks like this [ url=https://i.imgur.com/mXeCqhP.jpg][ img]https://i.imgur.com/mXeCqhPt.jpg[/img][/url] Notice the “t” when posting it tells the forum that you’re posting a thumbnail of the image that links to the full size. remove the spaces in the [ img] parts, ive had to add them here, so it shows as text It will show like this on the forum ![]() So whatever image you’re posting just before the .jpg or .png etc add a t It’ll create a thumbnail of your image and when clicked on opens up the full size Various other options are s = Small Square (90×90) b = Big Square (160×160) t = Small Thumbnail (160×160) m = Medium Thumbnail (320×320) l = Large Thumbnail (640×640) h = Huge Thumbnail (1024×1024) This tip is best really for when putting images in posts that are for example when showing meetings or contracts or similar type posts e.g. HERE, for banners and avatars use the usual methods (i.e. resize your images before uploading to a hosting site, so they fit as per the posting regulations or you could do this IMAGE LINK MAKER thanks RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - Corile - 04-15-2018 but we have imgw for this RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - evanz - 04-15-2018 does it link to the full size image? RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - Corile - 04-15-2018 if you right click -> view image in new tab then yes RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - evanz - 04-15-2018 which is a reason for my post, no need to "right click > view image", just click and it opens up, also it opens up without the bad pages of adverts that other websites show etc etc, you know what i mean RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - Thyrzul - 04-15-2018 (04-15-2018, 09:43 PM)evanz Wrote: which is a reason for my post, no need to "right click > view image", just click and it opens up But that's not done by the thumbnail thing, it's done by the [url] tags. RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - Skorak - 04-15-2018 Code: [url=IMAGELINK][imgw]IMAGELING[/imgw][/url]Is the solution in which you never exceed the forum rule limit. The url "tags" like i explained show thumbnails its just another way to show images easily if i got it all wrong link me a page/s that shows it so i can see please RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - evanz - 04-15-2018 (04-15-2018, 09:48 PM)Skorak Wrote: thats the reason why i made the post, it doesnt exceed the limit because its not posted on the forum, its a link to the full size image RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - Thyrzul - 04-15-2018 [url] tags attach a link to whatever is between them. If it's text, they attach a link to that text, if it's an image, like in your example, they attach a link to that image.
EDIT: Perhaps this would also be a bit helpful for you to understand what [url] actually does: https://discoverygc.com/forums/misc.php?action=help&hid=7 |
