@ all traders and smugglers - Tenacity - 02-11-2009 Just a word of advice, when you get CAUGHT, you're more likely to escape the situation alive by communication (i.e. trying to RP, there's a concept, wow!) than by constantly spamming your cruise engines. I'm getting sick and tired of the cardi smugglers in Omicron 100 who never say a word, and I get even more tired of the ones with fixed rep. You have no idea how annoying it is trying to take out a pirate train in a fighter when my own *snip* NPC's are shooting at me because of the train disruptors, while you take no damage from them whatsoever. Mind your language Tenacity -DL @ all traders and smugglers - BaconSoda - 02-11-2009 Though I do agree with you, I might say you don't have to fly a fighter when you see someone in Omicron 100. Most people don't understand anything these days except brute force (Which my pirates/lawkeepers are more than glad to show them, sometimes). I'm sure the Taiidan or Praetorian are closely at your disposal, or even the Civilian Bomber would do the trick (It isn't that bugged). Though, that's all I'd say about trying to kill transports... On the terms of RP, damn right, traders, Roleplay. I might sound like a stereotypical pirate saying this, but 4/5 traders I stop don't say a damn word except "How much?" or "Kill me." It gets on one's nerves, sometimes. Try and bargain (Though, good luck ), try and reason, try and use logic. Just...Do something! Though, I could say the same for some pirates as well... Of course, this is just a my perspective. Don't mind me. ;) @ all traders and smugglers - Tenacity - 02-11-2009 i even told them in system chat... drop the cargo and I'll let you by unharmed. It just annoys me when people go through omicron 100, because I feel obligated to stop what i'm doing, switch over to my order character, and get rid of them. I'll be glad when that stupid shortcut is gone, should never have been put into the mod in the first place. And the rep fixing... god that is annoying. Why should I have to deal with my own npcs attacking me because of train disruptors when the guy with illegal cargo who shouldnt even be in the system doesnt get attacked? I know at least one of them was nuetral or friendly with order guard, the first one I engaged was hostile to them at least, not that it helped much since the npcs all still ended up attacking me instead. @ all traders and smugglers - Heartless - 02-11-2009 Omi 100? Smugglers? I'll stick my Osiris on them. And best of all, it's completely rp and within the rules:) But yes, that rep thing is annoying :/ @ all traders and smugglers - Tenacity - 02-11-2009 ' Wrote:Omi 100? Smugglers? well, in 4.85 ill have a carrier to deal with them, but for now im not changing ships just to deal with a few oorp smugglers =/ @ all traders and smugglers - Reverend Del - 02-11-2009 Profits from piracy have taken a nose dive recently. The amount of trader's that come by my Rogues who just end up dying is ridculous. SAY SOMETHING! For heaven's sake, we don't ask much and we can be bargained with, just ask the trader who got by the other day after bringing 100 units of luxury food with her just for us. Didn't have to worry about piracy from the LR for the rest of the day. @ all traders and smugglers - Tenacity - 02-11-2009 ' Wrote:Profits from piracy have taken a nose dive recently. I think we'll see far more transports being used for piracy in 4.85 if that continues =P @ all traders and smugglers - Orin - 02-11-2009 Draya and Ashes even offer tea and crumpets. Traders are brutes. Mute brutes. @ all traders and smugglers - kikatsu - 02-11-2009 Hmmm I have been spending so much time with my other characters I havent thought about this issue for a while But now I will keep my eyes open, if I see an unknown ship in O-100, I'll sick Fenrir on them @ all traders and smugglers - Quorg - 02-11-2009 As for the traders being silent thing, yes, that happens. And yes, it's a bummer. With regards to your other point, however, there is no reason for the smuggler to force himself to be hostile to the owners of the systems through which he travels. That would indeed be the last thing any smuggler would want to do- to make himself a visibly wanted criminal. The fact that the smuggler is carrying cardi through Order NPC-controlled territory is already covered in RP by the fact that the NPC's can scan and demand contraband. Just because they don't always do the scan doesn't mean that it's OORP to fly past them without guns a-blazin'. Now, using Omicron-100 is definitely questionable in terms of RP, but that's a separate issue. |
