Liner RP - retnuh - 02-11-2009 1. is it allowed to RP a hijacked liner? or would you need special permission? 2. side question: do CDs not work on certain ships? if so is it ships over a certain size or what? Liner RP - Petersen - 02-11-2009 to question 2: if the engines of a ship are very far apart from ech other and the centre of the ship other cds than the train cd are more or less useless. the train cd has such a large blast radius it disrupts nearly anything besides a juggernaut and a rheinland bs without any aiming at all. for jugggernaut and rheinland bs you need to aim to be able to disrupt them. Liner RP - retnuh - 02-13-2009 thanks for the answer, when you say aim is that when you select different parts of the ship in the target window? (i.e. thruster in this case) Liner RP - Weedalot - 02-13-2009 ' Wrote:1. is it allowed to RP a hijacked liner? or would you need special permission? could you be more specific what does it mean. Liner RP - retnuh - 02-13-2009 ' Wrote:could you be more specific what does it mean. i mean like a luxury liner that was boarded by pirates, vips sold into slavery, valuables stolen, ship captured instead of destroyed. or a prison liner where the prisoners managed to overpower the guards, possibly with help from outsiders trying to free their commrades, most prisoners then left but some had no-where to go so remained on the prison liner. - those are along the lines i was thinking. ' Wrote:Or shoot when sitting behind the ship. ok thanks for the info. Liner RP - Cyro - 02-13-2009 I find this a good idea, if RPed good. (pirates owning hijacked liner) Liner RP - NerdRage - 02-15-2009 hmmm, i went over this when i was deciding to make a Cardi-Cola company main ship and party liner, then i thought: 1: how would a OC get a liner? 2: what would i do in-game? tell me, what do you have in mind, you obviously want RP confirmation to do somthing, or just for the sake of discussion? Liner RP - retnuh - 02-15-2009 ' Wrote:I find this a good idea, if RPed good. (pirates owning hijacked liner) thanks for the support ' Wrote:hmmm, i went over this when i was deciding to make a Cardi-Cola company main ship and party liner, then i thought: in terms of how they got it, i was thinking a hijacking scenario. What would i do in game? been thinking about that myself i was thinking that pirating would be kind of difficult as in terms of shields and firepower larger transports can match you and even best you in the case of a kusari transport (12 turrets) so if the trader did choose to fight in some cases it would be a lengthy battle by which time they could have thrusted to a station or somthing. Other than that shipping contraband between pirate bases when there aren't many people online to pirate. As for i.d. i was thinking either genric pirate or outcast maybe as that's the area of space i'd like to occupy i think as i've already explored most of corsair space. Liner RP - Knucklehead - 02-17-2009 I could definitely see the Outcasts being able to pull off such a hijacking, especially since they already don't like Orbital Spa and Cruise. Actually getting the ship could be a bit of a problem, as you would need to be at least neutral with OSC to get it (at least for the Luxury Liner). Complications may arise should the ship ever be lost in combat. I can see one hijacking as being successful, but the security would certainly be strengthened to avoid a repeat. The other complication is which ID's allow transports. I'm sure this isn't a huge issue, as there are only a few I know of that don't allow them. This could also change in 4.85 (I don't know for sure, I just heard that there are changes in the works for the IDs) |
