The time has come... I've done my fair share of transporting goods, and now I want to buy a fighter to explore the rest of the world with!!
I've been looking around, and the Raven's Talon and Viper Mk II seem like popular choices. As I look deeper at stats, the Spatial and the Somtaaw look like solid choices too. I'm looking for something that can get me around the universe safely, perhaps blow some stuff up on the way. I want a nice ship, some solid fire power, agile enough to avoid stuff.
Tips? Pointers? Advice? Favourites? Reasonings?

RT and Viper are good, but everyone has one. The SHFs are not used much, and pack quite a punch, but are lets say, less maneuverable than a elephant with a broken leg. You may want to try a Bomber like the Taiidin, or even a freighter may be a good choice, the Turanic is a really good ship in combat if flown right.

See it depends much on the character. If you choice faction has a fighter you should use it over all others.
Otherwise if you are just exploring for now, I'd highly suggest a transport of some sort or a gunboat for survivability.

Personally I love the Liberator, if everyone is using heavy fighters and bombers, you can rip them up if you have any skill in a light fighter. Just remember to pack shield breakers and missiles, preferably lvl 9 ones.
If you do go heavier, the Somtaaw I hear is quite powerful, if unbalanced. But I'm not sure. I'm trying to stay away from imports.
The Falcon is THE bomb, when outfitted right, you can do a lot. Look at the LWB the other day:lol:

LWB were all using Eagles, Falcon is the HF with 2 level 6 and 4 level 7 slots:P

I like flying on something special and rare so if i didnt count faction ships to which I am actualy stuck, my fighters of choice are:
Marsflyer (love that ship, had 3 of them:))
Kiith Somtaaw (very good svhf, Im surprised nobody use them)
Nomie LF from Gamu (hell hard to hit that agile beast. 3 debs and razor is best combo for that nice ship)
Virage (ugliest HF on market but great agility combined with good firepower... I saw in space only 2)
Sea serpent (old school BH designed LF... never saw single serpent in space:(... in 4.85 is removed vanila explosive sensitivity so only disadvantage is missing slot for razor... I hope in 4.86 devteam add mk. II version of that nice LF)

I would recommend flying different ships for a while before making a decision if you have the cash to waste of course.

Are you CRAZY!!!! Virage is awesome, lookin great, firepower, pretty fast, agility!, I use it for my freelancer and love it!
